Table - best surf conditions forecast for Mother Ivey s Spot M over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what Mother Ivey’s Spot M has in store for us over the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you – it’s a tough outlook. This is one of those periods where the surf just doesn't want to show up for a proper session. We’re looking at a long, dry spell of tiny, weak waves from July 13th all the way through until the 26th. Most of that time, the swell is barely a ripple, with combined wave energy struggling to get past the low 30s. There's a lot of onshore wind in there too, chopping up what little bump there is. It’s the kind of stretch where you’re better off checking the wind forecast for a kite session than paddling out.
Now, there is a little blip on the radar on Sunday the 27th of July. We get a big jump in size, with a 8ft to 8ft swell rolling in from the W, and the energy jumps right up (649-948). That’s a solid amount of water, but it’s short-period windswell at only 8 seconds, so it’ll be lumpy and fat. The wind is howling offshore from the SW at 25 mph, which sounds good for clean faces, but that’s a *strong* breeze. It’s gonna be a battle to get out, and at that size, it’s expert-only territory. Honestly, “poor surf conditions” is what the data says, and I get why – that wind is just too strong to be enjoyable.
The best of a bad bunch looks to be Monday the 28th of July. The swell eases slightly to a still-chunky 8ft from the WNW, but the period stretches out to 11 seconds, giving it more grunt and shape. The combined energy is a big 1340, telling you there’s plenty of power. We’ve got a fresh W breeze blowing offshore, keeping the faces clean. At this size, it’s still only for the experienced crew, but if you’ve got the balls and the board for it, this is the one window where the stars might align for a proper, clean, powerful wave at this sheltered spot. Just be aware it’s a bit of a long-range call, so keep your fingers crossed.
So, no real standout sessions I can get fired up about, but if you’re an expert and you’ve been staring at a flat ocean, that Monday the 28th is your only real hope.
Stay patient,
Rusty.
