Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, this is Rusty. Let’s get into it.
Right off the bat, I’ve got to be straight with you: Constantine Bay (Constantine Bay) is looking pretty flat and ordinary for the next two weeks. We’ve got a long stretch of nothing special here. The first real whisper of anything worth paddling out for doesn’t show up until the 21st of July.
For the first two weeks, it’s a grind. From the 6th of July through the 20th, we’re looking at tiny, weak swell – mostly around 1ft to 3ft – with poor wind conditions. The combined wave energy is mostly in the weak range, between 23 and 146, which is just sad. There are a few mornings, like the 9th, 10th, and 11th, where the wind goes clean and cross-offshore, but the swell is so small – 2ft to 3ft – it’s barely surfable. You’d be on a longboard or a foamie, and even then, you’d be scratching for anything. Thursday morning the 16th and Friday morning the 17th offer a bit of glassy or clean conditions, but the swell is still tiny. It’s a real waiting game.
Now, the standout. The only real shot we get is on the morning of 21st July. The swell finally shows up, jumping to 7ft from the NW, with a period of 7 seconds. The combined energy hits 352, which is a solid, moderate wave energy. The wind is light from the NNE, cross-offshore, which means clean waves. This is a proper session for a confident intermediate. That 7ft is going to be a bit punchy, maybe too much for beginners, but for anyone with a bit of experience, it’s the best on offer in the whole 16-day window. The water is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, sitting at 62°F.
The afternoon of the 21st gets ruined by a fresh cross-shore wind, so it’s a morning-only call. This is a long-range standout, so keep your fingers crossed and check back closer to the day.
Rusty.
