Table - best surf conditions forecast for Constantine Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for Constantine Bay.
Straight up, this is a tough one. The next 16 days are looking pretty bleak for a proper paddle. We’ve got a long stretch of small, weak energy and winds that just won’t line up right. The water is sitting at 62.8°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least it’ll be pleasant just sitting out there waiting for a nothing burger.
The first real chance to get wet is Thursday morning, the 9th of July. We’ve got a small 2.6ft swell from the WNW, with a period of 10 seconds. The combined energy is moderate at best (126). The wind is a light cross-offshore from the north, so the surf should be clean, but honestly, it’s just ordinary. That’s the best we’ve got, and it’s not saying much.
Friday morning, the 10th, looks like the standout of the whole period. It’s still small, with a 3.0ft swell from the west and a 9-second period, but the wind is scheduled to go glassy from the NNE. That means the surface will be like a mirror. The energy is a bit better at 136, but still, we’re talking tiny waves. For a longboard or a foiler, it’ll be a dream. For anyone else, it’s a frustrating wait for a wave that’s barely there.
After that, it’s a desert. From Friday afternoon all the way through to Sunday the 19th of July, the surf is either flat, chopped up, or blown out by onshore or strong cross-shore winds. There are a few days with offshore winds, like Sunday the 12th and Monday the 13th, but the swell is laughable – 0.3ft to 1.6ft, with almost no energy (23 to 34). That’s more of a swim than a surf.
We do see a slight pulse in the third week. On Sunday the 19th, the morning has a clean 1.6ft from the west, but it’s tiny. The next few days, from the 20th to the 23rd of July, the swell picks up a bit to around 3.3ft to 3.6ft from the west, with moderate energy in the 100–137 range. The problem is the wind – it’s mostly cross-shore or cross-onshore, so the waves will be choppy and messy. It’s a beach and reef setup, so with the wind going sideways, it’s going to be a battle. For a kite surfer, the consistent wind and small waves might look interesting, but for a paddle surfer, it’s a hard pass.
Bottom line: the only half-decent window is Friday morning the 10th for the glassy conditions, but you’ll be surfing micro-waves. Everything else is a write-off until the very end of the forecast, and even then, it’s not great. Sometimes it’s like this here – the bay just goes quiet, and you have to wait for the next weather system to send something decent.
Stay patient, mate.
