Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the cards for Constantine Bay.

Well, to be honest, it’s a bit of a flat spell to kick things off. We’ve got a long stretch here where the surf just isn’t worth the rubber. Through Wednesday the 8th, all of Thursday the 9th, and into Friday the 10th morning though... we finally see something. It’s not big, but it’s something. The pick of that early run looks to be Friday morning the 10th. We’ve got a clean little 3ft wave coming from the west, with a light cross-offshore breeze off the NNE at just 3 mph. That’s glassy enough to get a few fun ones. The water is sitting at 62°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so you can ditch the thickest wetsuit. Overall the energy is pretty weak with only 138 (combined swell energy), so don’t expect any power – just small, clean rollers for a longboard or a funboard.

After Friday, it goes downhill again. Saturday the 11th is choppy and messy, and Sunday the 12th is clean but tiny with a weird 0.3ft from the SW and a 21-second period – that’s groundswell, but there’s just no height. That same tiny, super-long period stuff hangs around for Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th too. It’s clean with offshore winds, but you’d be fighting for a knee-high ripple with a 19 mph breeze on Monday.

Wednesday the 15th morning is a little tease – glassy conditions with a 1ft west swell. You could sit out there on a log and enjoy the peace, but it’s not going to get the heart pumping. Then after that, it’s back to onshore slop and tiny waves all the way through to Wednesday the 22nd. Some of those days have a bit of cross-off wind, like Sunday the 19th morning, but the swell is still tiny at 1ft.

Now, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention what’s brewing way out there. For Thursday the 23rd, the models are showing a spike. The morning brings a 7ft WSW swell, with combined energy hitting 550 – that’s moderate juice. By the afternoon, it jumps to 8ft from the west, and the energy rockets to 1093. That’s proper strong. But – and it’s a big but – the wind is howling from the SW at 22 to 25 mph, smashing it onshore. That’s going to be a messy, lumpy, blown-out wall. This is one for the experts only, and honestly, with the onshore wind, this setup might be more interesting for kite surfing than your standard paddle session. It’s an event, just not a clean one. Keep an eye on it, but don’t get your hopes up for silky waves.

So, the standout window is really that Friday morning the 10th. Small, clean, and friendly. If you miss that, you’re waiting a long time for something that’s not really a winner.

Rusty, signing off.
