Table - best surf conditions forecast for Constantine Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what Constantine Bay has on offer over the next couple of weeks. It’s a bit of a tough stretch, to be honest. We’ve got some waves, but the quality is mostly poor, and the wind just won’t play nice for long stretches.
The opening few days are a write-off. From Wednesday the 8th through to Thursday the 10th, we’re looking at weak swell under 3 ft, with cross and cross-onshore winds creating bumpy, junk conditions. The combined energy is weak to moderate (90-139), so it’s not worth the hassle. Friday the 10th morning might look better from the numbers, but get this—it’s the standout for the first week, if you can call it that. The swell bumps up just a hair to 3 ft from the W, with a light cross-offshore breeze. The energy is moderate (139), and the water is a touch warmer than normal at 62°, which is about 3° above average for this time of year. It’s surfable, but very ordinary.
Saturday the 11th morning is the next chance. The swell drops to 2 ft from the W, but the wind goes glassy. That’s a major positive for cleanliness, even if the wave size is tiny. The energy is weak (113). After that, it’s another long gap. Sunday the 12th through to Tuesday the 15th sees tiny, weak swell (under 1 ft), with clean but almost flat conditions. Not worth paddling out.
The second half of the outlook shows a bit more life, but it’s far out and uncertain. There’s a window around Saturday the 18th morning: a 4 ft N swell with glassy conditions. That sounds good, but the period is short at 7 seconds, so it’ll be weak and wonky. The energy is moderate (141). A day later, Sunday the 19th morning has a 3 ft W swell (8-second period) and dead-calm glassy wind. That’s clean, but the energy is moderate (196).
The one true stand-out, 12 days out, is Monday the 20th morning. The swell builds to 6 ft from the N, with glassy offshore wind. The energy jumps to strong (499). That’s the best surf on the board, period. But keep in mind, at 6 ft and a short period of 6 seconds, it’s mainly for intermediate and up; beginners might find it a handful. Also, that short period groundswell will make the waves a bit straight at a beach break like this, so it won’t be the peaky perfection we dream of. It’ll be clean, but the shape might be a bit raw.
After that, conditions fall apart again with fresh cross-onshore winds and lumpy seas from the 21st onwards. There’s no real consistency here, but when the wind drops and the swell lifts, there are moments worth watching.
Keep an eye on that Monday the 20th – if it holds, it’ll be the one.
Rusty.
