Table - best surf conditions forecast for Godrevy over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here with a look at what’s on the cards for the next couple of weeks at Godrevy. Gotta be straight with you, it’s a quiet start. We’re looking at a long stretch of nothing special right out of the gate.
For the first week and a half, from now through the 26th of July, it’s pretty grim. The swell is tiny and weak, mostly under 3 ft with poor wind directions – a lot of cross-off and cross-on breezes that just won’t set it up right. The wave energy is barely registering, with most days sitting well under 100 (that’s weak energy). Honestly, it’s a waiting game. There’s a good ten days of flat, messy surf to get through.
Then, things start to show a little life on the morning of Thursday the 23rd of July. Swell size pushes up to a modest 5 ft from the WNW, but the wind is still a bit messy. The real flicker of hope comes that Thursday afternoon. The wind goes light and cross-offshore from the ENE, with a clean 4 ft of swell... It’s not huge, but it’s the cleanest conditions we’ve seen in a while.
The standout, and I mean the real standout, is the morning of Monday the 27th of July. We’ve got a proper pulse of energy arriving – we’re talking a solid 10 ft swell from the WSW with a period around 10 seconds. That’s a proper groundswell. The combined energy is through the roof at 1773 (that’s strong to very strong energy). Wind is light and onshore from the WNW. Now, here’s the thing: that’s way too big for beginners, and it might even be a handful for experienced surfers. At that size, Godrevy (England) is strictly for experts only. The water temp is sitting at a touch warmer than normal for this time of year at 63°.
So, a long dry spell, but a heavy, challenging swell to finish it off. Keep your eyes on that 27th, but know your limits.
