Table - best surf conditions forecast for Carbis Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ in our little corner.
Straight up, the outlook for Carbis Bay is a tough one for the next week and a half. We’re looking at a long, dry spell with next to nothing on offer. From now all the way through to Friday the 25th of July, the waves are just not happening. There’s hardly any swell, and when there is, the wind has been ruining it. You’ll see a lot of poor surf conditions flagged up; it’s just not worth paddling out for those little 1 to 3 ft windswells with shitty cross-onshore breezes. The combined energy is weak, hovering around 50 to 100, just limp. It’s a proper flat patch, feels like ages.
Now, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. The real standout action kicks off on Sunday, July 26th. We start seeing some life. By the morning, a clean 4 ft swell from the WSW is showing up with a moderate breeze cross-offshore. The combined energy is starting to pulse at 364, so it’s getting interesting. But the real gem? That’s Monday morning, July 27th. This is the one to circle on your calendar. We’ve got a solid 10 ft groundswell from the WSW, rolling in with a 10-second period. The wind is light from the WNW, meaning it’ll be clean and glassy. The combined energy is a massive 1,773—that’s strong, powerful stuff. This is prime for experienced surfers; it’ll be too big for beginners at over 8 ft. The direction is a solid match for the break’s optimum. Just keep in mind, it is a week and a half away, so the call is promising but not locked in. The water is sitting at 63°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so a bit of a bonus.
The afternoon on the 27th will still be chunky at 8 ft, but the wind swings a bit cross-shore, so it won't be as perfect as the morning.
So, there you have it. A long wait, but a proper payoff on that Monday morning. Stay patient.
Rusty
