Table - best surf conditions forecast for Carbis Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s get this sorted. Rusty here.
First up, Carbis Bay. It’s a pretty little spot, but honestly, the next week and a half looks like a write-off for any decent surf. You’re looking at a long gap of small, wind-affected junk. The water’s about average for the time of year, so nothing unusual there.
The first real chance to get wet doesn’t come until Wednesday, July 15th. We’ve got a tiny 4 ft swell rolling in from the ESE, but it’s short period stuff at 4 seconds, so it’s weak. The combined energy is only at 100 – that’s the bare minimum. Wind is light and cross-offshore though, so the surface will be clean. It’s surfable, but barely. The waves will be small and weak, and the crowd is a possibility here. It’s inconsistent and a beginner spot, so don’t expect much.
After that, it’s back to small, messy conditions until the 24th of July, Friday morning. That’s the one standout in the whole 16-day window. We get a 6 ft swell from the WNW, which is a decent bump. The period is only 6 seconds, so it’s windswell, not groundswell, but the combined energy jumps to 259 – that’s moderate and actually worth paddling out for. The wind is light and cross-shore, so it’ll be a bit ripply but not blown out. It’s a long way out, so keep an eye on it, but those are the best waves on offer.
Bottom line: a long, quiet spell, then one decent day on the 24th that might just be worth a look. Otherwise, the kites might have more fun than the surfers for most of this period.
Rusty.
