Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for Port Isaac.
Honestly, mate, I’ve gotta be straight with you – this stretch looks like a bit of a write-off. We’re looking at a solid 16-day window, and there’s barely a sniff of proper surf. The whole run is filled with tiny, weak waves and poor conditions. You’re gonna be waiting a long time for anything decent.
The water temperature is sitting at about 63°F right now, which is a fair bit warmer than usual for this time of year – feels like a summer anomaly.
We kick off with a few days of nothing. Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th have tiny 2ft to 2ft swell from the west, but it’s all cross-onshore and choppy. Combine that with weak energy (134 down to 71), and you’re not missing a thing. Monday the 6th and Tuesday the 7th are more of the same – light winds but still cross-onshore, with swell dropping to 2ft. The energy is pitiful, dropping to 39.
Wednesday the 8th morning is the only time the wind goes glassy, with a 2ft west swell, but the energy is still weak (63). The afternoon turns cross-onshore again. It’s a tease at best.
Thursday the 9th and Friday the 10th are more of the same – tiny swell, weak energy, and onshore wind. The energy does bump up to 108 on Friday afternoon, but the swell is only 3ft and the wind is onshore, so it’s messy.
The one real standout – and I’m being generous – is Saturday the 11th afternoon. The swell picks up to 4ft from the NNW, but with a short period of 6 seconds, it’s not gonna have much push. The wind goes glassy, so it’ll be clean. The energy is moderate (135). It’s surfable, but only just. For a beginner, it’s okay, but it’s not gonna light your fire.
After that, it’s another long gap. Sunday the 12th through to the end of the forecast period on Sunday the 19th of July is all tiny, weak swell and mostly cross-offshore or cross winds. The energy stays low, often under 50. There’s a 0.7ft to 1ft west-northwest groundswell on the 18th and 19th, but with long periods of 13 seconds, it’s just not enough height to do anything. It’ll be clean but flat.
So, there you have it. The best on offer is that Saturday the 11th afternoon glassy session with 4ft swell. Everything else is a miss. This area is just going through a dry spell.
Rusty.
