Alright crew, Rusty back at it. Gotta level with you – The Boiler is quiet for a long stretch. Most of what we see is small, weak stuff that just doesn’t have any grunt. Even when there’s a little bump, the wind messes it up or the period’s too short. You’re looking at a real dry spell before anything worthwhile shows up.
The first real movement comes on Saturday, July 18th. Up until then, it’s all knee-high or smaller – waves under 3 ft, and the energy is peanuts (under 100). A couple mornings on the 14th and 15th are dead glassy, but that’s not gonna help when the wave height is only 1 ft from the WSW. You’ll be floating more than riding.
Alright, Saturday the 18th morning – finally something. A 4 ft swell from the W with a moderate cross-offshore breeze keeps the face reasonably clean. The combined energy hits 116 (moderate). It’s not a classic swell, but it’s the first time the numbers add up for a proper session. That morning window is your best bet in this whole run.
Sunday the 19th keeps climbing – waves around 5 ft from the WNW with cross-offshore winds keeping it smooth. The energy jumps to 208–210. That’s a solid moderate punch. If you’re an expert, this is gonna be the biggest, most powerful stuff of the forecast. Just know that 5 ft on a reef can be a handful – it’s not for beginners.
Then Tuesday, July 21st morning, we get a 5 ft WSW groundswell with offshore wind and a combined energy of 375 (strong). That’s the biggest power reading of the entire outlook. Clean offshore wind right on it – that’s the real expert window.
Crowds can pop up here sometimes, and The Boiler is an inconsistent spot, so when it turns on it gets attention. The mornings of the 19th and 21st are your best chances for clean, solid surf. Don’t sleep on them.
First week – forget it. Second half, starting the 18th, there’s a few mornings worth getting excited about. Nothing epic, but for this stretch, that’s the cream of the crop.
