Table - best surf conditions forecast for Langland Point over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a proper look at this 16-day stretch for Langland Point.
Well, to be brutally honest, this is a tough one. We’re looking at a pretty bleak start. For the first couple of weeks, from Saturday the 11th right through until the end of July, there’s just nothing doing. The swell is tiny, the wind is all over the shop, and the energy is weak. We’ve got a massive gap of poor conditions with no real recommendations until the very end of the window.
The only faint glimmer of hope falls on Saturday the 25th of July for Langland Point. It’s a big, raw, powerful 8.2ft swell coming from the west, with a combined energy of 887 (moderate wave energy). That’s a serious lump of water. But, and it’s a big but, the wind is going to be a cross-shore, which means chop and a messy lineup. The period is only 8 seconds, so it’s a wind swell – not the kind of groundswell that gives you those long, peeling walls. The water temperature is about average for the time of year.
This setup is pushing the limits for anyone who isn’t a top-level surfer. 8.2ft with that kind of wind and short period is expert territory at Langland Point. It’s going to be powerful, dumpy, and difficult to paddle into. Honestly, with that much energy, a cross-shore breeze, and the beach-and-reef bottom, this looks more interesting for kite surfing than a pleasant paddle session. Crowds are *sometimes* there, but on a day like that, you might have the water to yourself if the wind is ugly. I wouldn't call it a standout – more a last-resort option for the hardcore only.
The rest of the window? Honestly, save your energy. It’s a blank run until that big day, and even that one is a gamble. Forecasts can change, so keep an eye on it, but right now, the bank is looking pretty quiet.
