Table - best surf conditions forecast for Langland Bay over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ up for Langland Bay.
Right now, we’ve got a pretty grim run for the next couple of weeks. There’s a big gap at the start with no surf worth paddling for. The first bit of hope doesn’t show up until Monday the 21st of July, and even then it’s not a pretty picture. That Monday morning kicks off with some mod rain and a strong cross-onshore wind at 25 mph, pushing a 4ft swell onshore. The combined energy is moderate (107), but the conditions are messy. Not worth a look.
The first real standout, and honestly the only one worth getting excited about, comes on the afternoon of Monday the 21st. The wind swings to the WNW at 9 mph, going cross-offshore, cleaning things right up. You get a 4ft swell from the WSW with a 6-second period (short period, so these will be a bit crumbly and close together). The combined energy is moderate (147). For an intermediate surfer, this is your best chance for a few clean, rideable waves before it gets messy again. That afternoon glass-off is where you want to be.
After that, the 22nd and 23rd of July bring some cross-shore wind and moderate energy (151 and 181 on the Wednesday morning), but the conditions stay lumpy. The 24th of July afternoon shows a 6ft WSW swell with an offshore wind from the N at 12 mph, giving clean conditions and very strong wave energy (230). That’s a big step up, but at 6ft it's getting a bit sizey for beginners. Still, for the more experienced crew, that afternoon on the 24th could be a solid session.
By the 25th of July, it’s blown out again with a big 8ft swell but crummy onshore winds—only for the experts, and even then, it'll be a battle.
So, overall, it’s a long, slow two weeks with only a couple of bright spots. The best on offer is the afternoon of the 24th of July: clean, offshore conditions, a solid 6ft WSW swell with strong energy. Also worth a shout is the afternoon of the 21st for cleaner conditions on a smaller, friendly wave. Crowds at Langland Bay can be often, so expect company on those good windows.
Stay patient, mates. This one’s a waiting game.
Rusty.
