Alright, Rusty here again. Let's break it down in feet and miles per hour.
Plain truth is, the Finder says there's nothing good on the cards for North Street across the entire sixteen-day outlook. A real bummer of a stretch.
We're talking a long, dry gap with no surf worth mentioning. The waves are tiny, barely reaching 2-3ft for the most part, and the ocean has no grunt. The wave energy numbers are all low – mostly in the teens and thirties, hardly ever breaking triple digits. Swell direction is all over the place from the south and southeast, not really locking into the optimal southeast flow for this beach and jetty.
Winds are mostly messy as well. You'll see a lot of light to moderate cross-onshore breezes, kicking up chop and making the surface ugly. There are clean windows, like Tuesday the 7th with a clean look from the north-northeast on a knee-high wave, or Friday the 10th with a clean offshore cross-off. But even then, the waves are just too small – 2ft with a short period – it's not doing anything.
There's a spike on Saturday the 18th of July, with the swell hitting 5ft out of the south and the energy hitting a moderate 149. That's a bit of size, but the wind is a moderate cross-onshore at 15-16 mph, and the period is a weak 6 seconds. It's a choppy, wobbly, windy mess. That looks more like a kite session than a surf one.
For a break that's usually consistent, a run of flatness like this is just part of the deal. Forecasts can change, but right now, it's a waiting game. No standouts, no hope on the horizon.
Stay patient.
Rusty.
