Table - best surf conditions forecast for North Street over the next 16 days.

Alright, Rusty here. Let's be straight with you – this forecast for North Street is a tough one. You're looking at a long stretch of days where Mother Nature just isn't playing ball. The energy is weak, the winds are messy, and the waves are small. Every single call in this 16-day window is rated as poor surf conditions. There's no standout session to get excited about – it's a flat, frustrating run.

The water temperature is a touch warmer than normal for July, at 75° , which is a bit unusual, but with no surf, you won't feel it.

Let's take it day by day. This Sunday afternoon, the 12th, we're looking at a tiny 2ft easterly swell with a short period of 5 seconds. The cross-onshore wind from the ESE at 9 mph has it choppy. The combined energy is weak at just 32. It's a write-off.

Monday the 13th is more of the same – small, weak swell with onshore or cross-onshore breezes. The energy stays in the low 40s. Nothing to paddle for.

Tuesday the 14th drops even smaller to 1ft with a bit more period from the SE at 9 seconds, but the swell is just too small. The wind switches from cross to a moderate cross-shore, and there's a cross-chop on the water.

Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th bring some cleaner conditions with light cross-offshore breezes, even glassy on Friday the 17th afternoon. But the wave heights are tiny – 1ft to 2ft – and the period is short. It's clean, but there's nothing to ride. The energy is still weak, ranging from 18 to 34. The glassy conditions on Friday afternoon would be magic if there was any swell, but there just isn't.

The weekend of the 19th and 20th sees a slight bump. Sunday the 19th afternoon has a 3ft south swell, but it's only 4 seconds period and the wind is a moderate cross-onshore, making it choppy. Monday the 20th morning builds to 4ft from the south, but the wind is a light cross-shore. Afternoon on the 20th, the swell hits 5ft from the south with a period of 6 seconds, and the combined energy climbs to 156 – moderate energy at last. But it's cross-onshore and choppy, so the quality is poor. This setup is more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.

Tuesday the 21st stays in the 4ft to 5ft range, with moderate energy, but again, the cross-shore and cross-onshore winds kill the quality. Choppy and bumpy.

From Wednesday the 22nd onward, it drops back down. The swell gets smaller, the winds stay onshore or cross-shore, and the energy falls back to weak levels, between 14 and 56. The 25th of July has a tiny 2ft easterly swell with a moderate cross-onshore chop.

Honestly, there’s not a single session in this 16-day window I’d recommend driving for. The consistent lack of any good window and the poor surf quality across the board means you’re better off waiting for the next forecast update. It doesn't stay this poor forever.

Rusty.
