Table - best surf conditions forecast for Leftovers/Rightovers over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again, now in feet and miles per hour for you.
To be straight with you, the outlook is pretty grim for a solid stretch. We’ve got a long gap of flatness with no worthwhile waves. The first half of July is a write-off, with nothing but tiny, weak dribble. From Sunday the 12th right through to Tuesday the 21st, the swell is tiny, mostly around 1.6 ft or less, and the wind is a stubborn cross-off from the ENE, blowing at 12 to 19 mph. That combo leaves everything chopped and gutless. The combined energy is weak, barely cracking triple digits on a few days, and mostly sitting well below 100. There’s just no push or power.
Now, the only real period that starts to look half interesting is Wednesday the 15th into Thursday the 16th. But even then, it’s marginal. The swell nudges up to 2.3 ft from the west, with a period around 15 seconds – that’s a genuine groundswell, which is nice for shape and energy, but it’s still tiny. The energy reading hits 284 (moderate) on Wednesday morning. The wind is light off the land, E at 9 mph, which should keep the surface clean. Leftovers/Rightovers is a reef setup, so that long period (15 sec) should wrap in cleanly, offering some proper lines on the sets. But it’s an advanced break, and with only waist-high waves, only the most skilled will get much out of it. It’s about as good as it gets in this window, but that’s not saying much.
The second week is a total bust. From the 17th onward, the swell drops back to nothing, the period collapses, and by the 21st, there is absolutely zero swell energy right through to the 27th. Combined energy drops to single digits or zero. Not a single decent wave in sight. If you’re a local and used to this area, you know a blank run like this is pretty normal for this time of year. It’s a quiet spell.
If you’re desperate for a paddle, Wednesday the 15th morning is your best bet – a clean 2.3 ft west swell with light offshore winds. But temper your expectations. The rest of the window is flat or barely dribbling.
