Table - best surf conditions forecast for Camboinhas over the next 16 days.

The Lowdown

Alright, let’s look at what’s on the table for the next 16 days. It’s a bit of a slow start, but there are a couple of windows that’ll get the stoke going.

We’re kicking off with a flat spell. Sunday the 2nd through Tuesday the 4th is looking pretty ordinary. Tiny waves, weak energy, and nothing to get excited about. The water is sitting at 73°, which is about average for the time of year, so no surprises there.

The first sign of life shows up on Wednesday the 5th. That morning, we’ve got a 3ft S swell pushing in with moderate energy (221), and a light N breeze keeping things clean. It’s surfable, but nothing to write home about. The real standout is Sunday the 9th afternoon. That’s when things pick up. A 4ft SSW swell, light offshore NE wind, and clean conditions. The energy is moderate (236) and the combination of swell size and wind direction makes it the best session of the first week.

Then we hit a bit of a lull again until the following week. The big pulse comes in around Monday the 10th, with a 7ft S groundswell, but it’s onshore wind and messy. That swell holds into Tuesday and Wednesday, but with rain and cross-onshore winds, it’s more for the experienced crew. The energy is strong (over 2000), but the quality is poor for paddle surfing.

The true standout of the whole outlook is Thursday the 13th morning. That’s the one. A clean 5ft S swell, offshore NNE wind, light breeze, and very good conditions. The energy is moderate (784) and the swell direction is a solid match for the optimum SW. This is the session to aim for. The water is still feeling about average temp-wise, and the conditions are as clean as it gets.

A few more fun waves come through Saturday the 15th morning and Sunday the 16th morning, with clean 6ft and 5ft S swells, but the standout remains the 13th.

Overall, the first week is a slow burn, with Wednesday the 5th and Sunday the 9th offering the best of a small window. The second week has more size, but wind and rain mess with the quality. The 13th is the day to clear the calendar.
