Alright crew, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for Arpoador over the next couple of weeks.

We've got a bit of a slow start, but things are gonna light up nicely. The first real session to get excited about is Saturday morning, July 11th. It's not the biggest, with chest-high sets around 4ft from the SE and a solid 13-second period, but the wind is a light cross-shore at 3 mph, keeping it manageable. The water is sitting at 73°F, which is about average for this time of year, so no surprises there. Saturday afternoon cleans up even more with a light cross-offshore breeze and still some 3ft SE swell. It'll be a fun little session, but the crowd situation is something to watch – it's "often" busy here.

Sunday morning, July 12th, is the real standout of this early run. We're looking at 3ft of SE swell with a glassy, dead-calm surface. That's the kind of clean you dream about. The energy is moderate at 275, and the waves will be super user-friendly for beginners and longboarders alike. But keep an eye on the skies – Sunday afternoon goes straight to the dogs with a strong 12 mph onshore wind from the SSW and lumpy conditions, so get out early or sit it out.

Monday and Tuesday, July 13th and 14th, see a bit more size as the swell bumps up to 5-6ft from the S/SSE, but the wind is cross-onshore and messy. There's some proper energy in the water – Tuesday morning is pumping 1088 – but the quality just isn't there for a good paddle session. The beach setup with that much cross-shore wind might actually be more interesting for the kite crew than us.

The best bets of the whole forecast window are Wednesday and Thursday mornings, July 15th and 16th. Wednesday morning is clean with a light offshore breeze from the NE at 6 mph, and 6ft of SSE groundswell with an 11-second period. The wave energy is strong at 710. Thursday morning is almost a carbon copy – 6ft from the SSE again, but with a longer 12-second period and a light offshore from the NNE. These two mornings are going to be firing with crystal-clear conditions and proper, punchy waves. This is serious quality for intermediate and above.

Things start to taper off from Friday the 17th, with smaller 3-4ft swells, though the offshore winds hold, making for clean but small sessions. By Saturday the 18th through to Wednesday the 22nd, it gets pretty ordinary – we're looking at knee-to-waist high dribble from the east with short periods around 8 seconds. The energy drops right off. It's surfable if you're desperate, but don't expect any gems.

Then, way out there on Friday morning, July 24th – a full 13 days from now – there's a very interesting long-range possibility. We could see 4ft of S swell riding on a super-long 16-second period. That's a proper groundswell, and the water is glassy with a light offshore. The energy is solid at 682. Keep in mind, that long period stuff can be a bit straight for the beachies but at Arpoador’s point setup, it could be something special. It's still a bit far out to count on, but it's got potential.

The week starting July 25th fades back to small, ordinary conditions with onshore winds. All in all, Wednesday and Thursday mornings next week are your best shots for a proper session here.

Rusty.
