Table - best surf conditions forecast for Laranjeiras over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the cards for Laranjeiras over the next couple of weeks.
Alright, so the outlook for Laranjeiras is a bit of a slow burner. The water's sitting at 72°, which is a degree warmer than usual for this time of year – feels pretty nice, actually. The first few days offer a little something, but nothing to get overly excited about. We're looking at a real patchy run, with a lot of poor surf days in the second week.
Thursday morning starts off small, with 3ft southerly swell. It’s glassy though, which is a major positive for the beginner-friendly waves here. The combined energy is moderate (217). By Thursday afternoon, the swell picks up a touch to 3ft from the south, with a good 11-second period, and the wind is cross-offshore, keeping it clean. It’s surfable, but still very ordinary.
Friday morning bumps up the quality. We’ve got glassy conditions with a 2ft south swell, but the energy is weak (79). The real pick of the week is Friday afternoon. The swell jumps to 3ft from the southeast, with a solid 13-second period, giving it some real push. The combined energy is strong (394), and with light cross-offshore winds, it’s going to be clean. This is the standout session for the first week.
Saturday and Sunday drop right off – tiny waves and poor conditions. The energy levels are pitiful. We then get a bit of a pulse on Monday and Tuesday, with a 4ft to 5ft south swell, but the wind is onshore or cross-onshore, making it messy and choppy. The energy is strong (over 500 on Monday morning), but the quality is just not there for paddle surfing.
Then comes a nice little window. Tuesday afternoon is glassy with a 4ft south swell and a 10-second period, giving good conditions (361 energy). Wednesday is the best of the lot for the whole forecast. Clear skies, light offshore winds, and a 4ft south-southeast swell with a 10-second period. The energy is strong (357), and it’ll be clean. That’s your best bet for a proper session.
After Wednesday, the 16th, it’s a long, slow fade. We get tiny swell, weak energy, and a lot of “poor surf conditions” days. There’s a real gap from the 16th all the way to the 24th of July with nothing worth paddling out for. The energy values are almost all in the double digits – weak stuff. The run of poor days is pretty standard for this spot when the swell disappears.
For the surfer, aim for Friday afternoon the 10th or Wednesday morning the 15th. That’s where you’ll find the cleanest, most fun waves. The rest is mostly a write-off until the last day of the forecast period, where we see a little 2ft south swell with a 13-second period on Friday the 24th morning, but it’s still just surfable, not a standout.
Rusty.
