Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Right on, let’s take a look at what’s brewing for Jacaraipe over the next couple of weeks. We’ve got a mixed bag coming, but there are a few windows where it’ll really light up.
The water temp is sitting at about 75°, which is pretty much average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
We start off this Friday morning, July 3rd, with a clean 4ft swell from the east, period around 8 seconds and light cross-offshore wind from the north. The energy is moderate (269). It’s a decent little starter, but nothing to write home about. By the afternoon the wind swings onshore and it gets choppy – so make the most of the morning.
Saturday morning, July 4th, is where the magic starts. Glassy conditions with the wind going almost dead calm from the west-southwest, and a clean 4ft east swell. That’s a real treat for the sandbar here. The energy ticks over at 259, and it’s perfect for a beginner or someone just wanting a fun, user-friendly wave. This is a standout session.
Sunday morning, July 5th, still looks good with a 3ft east swell, light cross-offshore wind and clean conditions. Energy drops a little to 202, but it’s still a fun little wave for a session.
After Sunday, the surf takes a real dip. From Monday through to Thursday it’s all pretty marginal or poor, with onshore winds and choppy conditions. There’s a bit of a lull here for a few days.
But then we get a real gem on Thursday morning, July 9th. Completely glassy, dead calm wind, and a 3ft easterly groundswell with an 11-second period. The energy is strong at 370. This is the kind of day where the lineup feels like glass – very clean, very user-friendly. Another standout.
The next big highlight comes on Saturday, July 11th. Another glassy morning with a 3ft south-easterly swell, 12-second period, and very strong energy at 347. The wind is light from the west-southwest. By afternoon it picks up a bit and gets some cross-shore bump, but the morning window is pristine.
We get a few more mornings that look tidy – like Wednesday morning, July 15th, with a 4ft northerly swell but a really short period of 6 seconds, so it’ll be a bit weak and mushy. The morning of Friday, July 17th goes completely glassy again, with a 5ft south-easterly swell, though the period is short at 7 seconds, so energy is moderate (310). Clean, but not powerful.
Finally, Saturday morning, July 18th, offers one more nice glassy window with a 3ft south-south-easterly swell and a very long 12-second period, packing strong energy at 442. That long period means longer waits between sets, but cleaner, more defined lines pushing through.
So, all in all, the best bets are Saturday morning July 4th, Thursday morning July 9th, and Saturday morning July 11th. Get on them early for the cleanest, glassiest surf.
