Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jacaraipe over the next 16 days.
G'day, it's Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the table for Jacaraipe over this 16-day run.
First up, the water's sitting at 75° which is pretty much spot on average for this time of year – nothing unusual there.
Now, the good news is there's surf coming, but the bad news is we've got a bit of a false start. Thursday afternoon is a write-off with bumpy cross-onshore junk, so you can leave the board in the car. The real action kicks off Friday morning. Friday 10 July is the standout of the whole outlook. We've got a clean, cross-offshore breeze from the north, light winds, and a 3ft ESE swell with a solid period of 14 seconds pushing in. The combined energy is sitting at a moderate 513 – that's decent grunt. That longer period groundswell will give you some proper shaped waves with nice long waits between sets, making the paddle out easier. This is the morning to be out there.
Saturday 11 July morning is also worth a mention. Another clean session with north cross-off winds, 4ft of SE swell, moderate energy (499), and cleaner conditions. Saturday afternoon turns into an onshore mess though.
Sunday 12 July afternoon is a nice little bonus – glassy conditions with NNW light airs and a 3ft SE swell. Smooth as glass for a late session. The swell energy drops to 328 (weak-to-moderate), so it's not a power session, but the clean conditions make up for it.
From Monday through Wednesday, we get a run of poor-to-marginal surf with gusty south winds and short-period junk. Monday 13 July has a brief window of 2ft ESE swell with SSW cross winds – not worth the drive. Tuesday 14 July actually has the biggest swell of the period at 5ft to 6ft, but it's short-period (6–7 seconds) with strong cross winds, so it's lumpy, messy, and honestly looks better for kites than paddle surfing.
Thursday 16 July morning brings a return to clean conditions – glassy with NNW light airs and 5ft of SE swell at 9 seconds. Energy is moderate at 360. A nice mid-week window.
Then from Friday 17 July all the way through to Friday 24 July, we see a repeating pattern. Every morning has that magic cross-off north breeze with clean conditions and swell hanging between 4ft and 5ft from the ESE to E. The periods are shorter, around 8 seconds, but the consistency is there. Every afternoon gets chopped up by onshore ENE winds. The standout mornings in this second week are Sunday 19 July (5ft E at 8 seconds, energy of 487 – strongish) and Monday 20 July (5ft E at 8 seconds, energy 320). The Friday 24 July morning also has 5ft E swell with 307 energy, so it's a decent way to close out the period.
Breaking it down: the best single session is Friday 10 July morning. Runners-up are Saturday 11 July morning, Sunday 12 July afternoon, and the clean morning windows from 16 July through to 24 July. Crowds? Jacaraipe can get busy sometimes, especially when the conditions line up like this, so get there early if you can.
So in short – early mornings are your friend here, and Friday 10 July is the one to block out in your calendar.
Rusty.
