Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jacaraipe over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s happening with the waves.
First off, water temps are sitting around 75°, which is pretty much dead normal for this time of year, no surprises there. Keep the springie handy.
For the next few days, honestly, it’s pretty grim. Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th are write-offs with poor conditions; the swell is there but the wind is just messy, cross and cross-on, no good. Through Friday the 10th morning, we finally get a little window. It's still small, only about 4ft from the ESE, period around 14 seconds, so that's a proper long-period groundswell. The wind is light and cross-off from the north, keeping things clean. The energy is moderate (582). This is the best on offer in the first week, but it’s a short window before the wind swings onshore in the afternoon. The break is a sandbar setup, so that long period might make it a bit straight, but with clean conditions, it’s worth a look for the beginner-friendly waves here.
Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th are mixed, mostly windy and choppy, though Sunday morning has clean conditions from a north cross-off, but the energy drops.
Monday the 13th morning is another small clean window with a 14-second period and light offshore, but the swell is tiny at 2ft. Not much to get excited about.
Then we hit a rough patch. From Tuesday the 14th through to the 19th, conditions are poor to marginal. The wind is constantly up, and the swell quality is just not there. There’s a real gap here with no solid recommendations.
Now, here’s the standout that’s further out. On Wednesday the 22nd of July morning, we’ve got 6ft of east swell at 8 seconds. That’s a bit of a short period, so it won’t have the grunt of a groundswell, but the key here is glassy conditions. Absolutely dead calm, zero wind. For a sandbar break, that’s gold. The energy is moderate (335). It’s a bit bigger, so it’s getting into the fun range. This is the other highlight of the outlook. Then again on the morning of the 23rd, we see another glassy window, 5ft from the ESE. These mornings in the second week are your best bet, but remember, it’s a long-range call, so keep an eye on it.
Overall, there are only a couple of real standouts here: Friday morning the 10th and those glassy mornings on the 22nd and 23rd. The rest is a battle with the wind. Hang tight, check the forecasts, and don’t force it on the junk days.
Rusty.
