Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jacaraipe over the next 16 days.
G'day, I'm Rusty. Let's have a look at what's on the table for the next couple of weeks around Jacaraipe.
Alright, straight up, it's a mixed bag. We've got a serious run of 'no-go' days before things start looking half-decent. The water's sitting at a pretty mild 74°, which is bang on average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
The first real window of hope is on Friday morning, the 17th. That's the standout session for the whole forecast. We'll see clean 6ft swell out of the ESE with an 11-second period – that's proper groundswell energy, giving the waves some shape and punch. The combined energy is a solid 985 (moderate to strong), so there's plenty of grunt behind it. And the wind? Glassy, cross-off from the north. It'll be clean as a whistle on the sandbars. Just a heads-up, the swell is coming from ESE, whereas the spot likes an easterly direction, so it's not a perfect alignment, but the quality of the conditions should make up for it.
Before that, it's pretty grim. From now through to Thursday, we've got strong south winds and lumpy, cross-shore chop from Sunday the 13th all the way through the week. The swell is there – up to 7ft from the south on Tuesday afternoon – but the wind is blowing it to pieces, so the wave comment confirms it's poor surf conditions. Not worth paddling out.
Saturday the 18th has a morning window with clean 4ft swell and a light cross-off wind from the NNW, and the energy is 445 (moderate). It'll be clean, but the size is nothing special. Then there's a bit of a lull, with just ordinary, small surf through Sunday the 19th and Monday the 20th.
The next pick of the pack is on Tuesday morning, the 21st. We're looking at 5ft from the ENE with a 7-second period. The period is short, so the waves will be a bit weaker and won't reel off as nicely, but it'll be clean with a light north cross-off wind, and the combined energy is 444 (moderate). Not a classic, but a functional surf for the keen.
Wednesday the 22nd and Thursday the 23rd mornings offer clean but small, ordinary 4-4ft surf with 8-second periods. It's surfable but definitely flat.
As we push into the second week, confidence drops. Saturday the 25th morning has 5ft from the ENE with a 7-second period, but it's clean under a north cross-off. The combined energy is 258 (moderate), but that short period is a let-down. Sunday the 26th morning shows a bump to 6ft from the NE, but it's cross-shore from the SSW and the wave comment flags it as marginal. The energy is 616 (moderate), but the wind will chop it up.
Overall, if you want a surf, your best bet is to pencil in Friday morning, the 17th, and maybe Tuesday morning, the 21st. The rest is largely a write-off or just ordinary.
Rusty.
