Table - best surf conditions forecast for Galheta over the next 16 days.
Alright, surfers, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what’s coming up at Galheta.
We’ve got a bit of a slow start to the forecast period, but things are about to fire up. The water is sitting at 60°, which is a full 6° colder than normal for this time of year. That’s very unusual, so don’t skimp on the rubber if you’re heading out.
First up, the best of the whole run is shaping up for Tuesday, July 14th. The morning is looking absolutely glassy with a clean 6 ft swell from the SE, packing a solid 10-second period and a combined energy of 925. That’s moderate to strong wave energy, and the conditions are set to be perfect. The afternoon bumps up to 7 ft, but the forecast says it might be too big for the break, so the morning session is the real standout. This is the one to circle on the calendar.
Following that, Wednesday morning, July 15th offers a solid 6 ft swell from the ESE with a gentle offshore wind from the NNW, keeping things clean. The combined energy is 601 (moderate), and the conditions look very good. Then Thursday morning, July 16th is another strong option with a 6 ft ESE swell, a 12-second period, and a moderate offshore wind from the NNW. The combined energy is 774 (moderate), making for a powerful, clean session.
The quality drops off after that. The weekend of the 18th and 19th sees tiny surf with very ordinary conditions, and then from the 19th through the 21st, there’s a gap of several days with no real surf on offer—just flat spells with offshore winds.
Things try to pick up again around Wednesday, July 22nd, with a 5 ft ENE swell, but the period is a short 8 seconds, which won’t be as punchy. The wind is offshore in the morning, so it’s surfable, but it’s not the quality of the earlier week. The following week, Friday, July 24th morning has a 3 ft SSE swell, and Saturday, July 25th morning shows a clean 3 ft ESE swell, both with offshore winds, offering small but clean options.
Overall, the real standout is Tuesday morning, the 14th. That’s your best bet for clean, solid waves.
Rusty.
