The Lowdown

Alright, let's break it down. The only spot in the game is Praia Mole – a sandbar break that's consistent and exposed, with a preference for ESE swell.

Right now, it's slow going. Sunday the 13th is trash – cross-shore wind, lumpy, poor waves. Monday the 14th stays marginal with light rain and small 3ft swell from the SE. Not worth suiting up.

Tuesday morning the 15th shows some promise: clean conditions with a light SW offshore breeze, waves around 4ft from the ESE, period 8 seconds, moderate energy at 269. Rideable but nothing special. Afternoon goes choppy again.

Wednesday the 16th is a bust – bumpy and wind-affected.

Thursday the 17th morning is the real deal. Glassy calm, 4ft swell from the SSE with an 11-second period – that's proper groundswell with better shape and energy. Combined energy moderate at 308. Clean, lined up, and fun. Crowds are possible so get there early. This is the best of the run.

Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th are small and clean but weak – tiny east swell, not much push.

Monday the 21st morning is another good window: glassy again, 4ft from the east, period 8 seconds, energy at 217. Clean and surfable. Tuesday the 22nd stays marginal but clean with offshore winds.

Wednesday the 23rd gets blown out – strong SSW winds, lumpy, poor. Thursday the 24th morning sees a bigger pulse of 6ft from the south, but cross-shore wind and bumpy conditions. That's more of a kite day than a paddle day.

Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th are light wind but small. Saturday morning is glassy with 3ft from the NE – clean but tiny.

Bottom line: Thursday the 17th and Monday the 21st are your windows – both glassy, clean, and fun. The rest is either small or windy. Not a classic stretch, but there's a couple of sessions to be had.

Rusty.
