The Lowdown
Alright, this is Rusty checking in with a look at the next couple of weeks. To be honest, it’s a rough stretch ahead. We’ve got a long, long gap before anything even worth talking about shows up. From right now, it’s gonna be pretty flat and ugly for about ten days straight. The conditions are just a mess of tiny wind chop and cross-shore breezes. You’d be better off doing something else.
The only faint glimmer is on Saturday the 25th of July at Vilano Beach (United States). That morning, we’re finally looking at something surfable, even if it’s very ordinary. We’re talking a tiny 1.6 ft swell out of the ESE, with a short period of 8 seconds, so it’s not going to have much push. The combined energy is weak at best (59). The good news is the wind is light and cross-offshore, so the surface will be clean. The water temperature is sitting at 84.4°, which is about normal for this time of year. It’s not a call to drop everything, but it’s the only window where you might not be totally wasting your time. Crowds are possible here, so expect some company for the one bit of action.
After that Saturday morning, it’s right back to the same story – more days of poor surf and onshore junk. This is shaping up to be a classic blank run for the area.
