The Lowdown
Alright, let's break down the next couple weeks at the main spot, Left Point. It's an inconsistent point break, but when it's on, it's pure magic. The water temp is sitting around 56°F, which is pretty standard for this time of year.
We're starting off slow. Thursday the 20th is a throwaway with a tiny 2-foot swell and messy cross-shore wind. Don't even bother. Friday the 21st is a total loss too – the swell is a bit better at 4 feet, but the onshore wind and lumpy conditions are brutal.
Saturday the 22nd sees a massive jump, with a solid 10-foot SW swell. That's only for the hardcore crew, and the morning will be a choppy mess. The afternoon cleans up a bit with a cross-offshore breeze, but it's still huge, with combined swell energy at 5966 (moderate-strong). Sunday and Monday stay rough with onshore winds and lumpy surf.
But then we get our window. Tuesday the 25th is the clear standout. The early morning looks excellent for experienced surfers. We've got a clean 7-foot swell from the WSW, with light offshore wind from the SSW. That's perfect for a point break. The period is 13 seconds, so it's a proper groundswell with good shape and solid energy (3142). The waves will be clean and lined up. Just know that it's an inconsistent spot, and it can get crowded when the word gets out.
Wednesday the 26th afternoon is another strong option, with a clean 6-foot swell and moderate offshore wind from the SW. More manageable size, still clean – a good backup if you miss the Tuesday gem.
After that, the following week is a mixed bag. The 30th and 31st offer clean, small 2-3 foot waves, and September 1st afternoon looks very good with clean 2-3 foot surf and glassy conditions. The start of September also brings back some bigger swell, up to 10 feet, but the wind will be onshore and messy.
So, to sum it up: Tuesday the 25th at Left Point is your best shot. The Wednesday the 26th afternoon is a solid second choice. The rest is pretty average.
