Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tallebudgera over the next 16 days.

G’day, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s comin’ down the line for the next couple of weeks.

Right off the bat, there’s a bit of a wait. The first real chance of a wave is Sunday morning, July 12th, but it’s nothin’ to write home about. We’ve got a 3.6ft swell from the SE with a 11-second period. The combined energy is moderate (299). The wind’s out of the WNW at 9 mph, which is a cross-off, so it’s clean enough. The water temp’s sittin’ at 69.6°, which is pretty much average for this time of year. Tallebudgera is the only spot on the menu, and it’s a breakwater setup for advanced surfers only. Looks like a session for the experienced crew.

Sunday afternoon, the swell drops a touch to 3.0ft, still SE, but the wind shifts to a light NW breeze – still cross-off, but the energy drops to 187. It’s surfable, but I’d call it ordinary.

Monday the 13th starts with a glassy morning, NE wind at 3 mph, but the swell is tiny at 2.0ft from the ESE with a 9-second period. Combined energy is weak (78). It’s pretty flat, just a knee-high dribbler. Afternoon gets worse with a cross-on wind.

Tuesday the 14th is a write-off – swell drops to 1.0ft, no energy.

Now, Wednesday the 15th, we see a bump in swell size but the quality goes out the window. Afternoon brings a 5.6ft SSE swell with a short 6-second period, and the wind is a cross-shore at 16 mph. Combined energy climbs to 201, but it’s messy. Poor surf conditions.

Thursday the 16th, things get ugly. Swell jumps to 9.8ft in the morning, then 14.8ft in the afternoon from the SSE, with a 10-second period. The wind is howlin’ at 19–22 mph, cross-shore. Combined energy hits 3468 in the afternoon – strong. But it’s a lumpy, choppy mess. Too big for beginners, and with that wind, it’s only for the hardcore, if anyone.

Friday the 17th stays big and messy – 9.8ft swell, 22 mph winds, cross-shore. Combined energy still over 1300. Just a beat-up ocean.

Saturday the 18th is a real standout – but not for the right reasons. The swell is 16.4ft from the SSE with a 10-second period, and the energy is massive (4714 in the morning). The wind is cross-shore at 19 mph. The guidance says the swell is too big for this break. This is a breakwater, and with that size, it’s gonna be a washing machine. Only for absolute experts, and even then, it’s a survival mission. Honestly, with that much swell and strong cross-wind, this setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.

Sunday the 19th, still huge – 14.8ft dropping to 11.5ft, still cross-shore winds. Still too big for the break.

Monday the 20th, swell drops to 9.8ft, wind lightens a bit but still cross-shore. Marginal at best.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Tuesday the 21st of July – this is the best on offer. Morning glass-off, no wind, and a 7.2ft swell from the ESE with an 11-second period. Combined energy is a solid 1165. That’s a clean, lined-up groundswell. The wind is glassy, so the surface will be like a mirror. This is a standout for the experienced surfer – 7.2ft is pushing into expert territory, but with that long period and offshore wind, it’ll be a proper session. The swell direction is ESE, which is close to the optimum SSE.

Wednesday the 22nd morning is another standout – glassy, 5.2ft swell from the E with a 12-second period, energy at 1194. Clean, long lines. This is the pick of the second week. Again, for advanced surfers, the size is manageable and the quality is high.

From there, the rest of the week shows a slow drop-off. Thursday the 23rd morning has 3.6ft from the ESE with a 11-second period, cross-off wind, clean but smaller. Friday the 24th morning has a similar 3.6ft swell but with a longer 13-second period, which will have some punch but longer gaps. Saturday the 25th is a real highlight – the morning has 4.3ft, then the afternoon picks up to 5.2ft from the SE with a 12-second period, and the wind is a clean cross-off. Energy is 691-715. That’s a solid, clean afternoon session. Sunday the 26th, 4.3ft with offshore wind – clean, but smaller.

After that,
