Table - best surf conditions forecast for Venice Pier over the next 16 days.
Alright, mates, Rusty here, giving you the lowdown on the next 16 days. Let’s be honest, it’s looking pretty dire for a long stretch, but there’s one tiny window that might just be worth a look.
The pattern is stubborn – small, weak, and mostly blown-out surf. The first real chance to even consider a paddle comes on Sunday the 19th. Before that, there’s a solid 11-day gap with nothing worth mentioning. The wave energy is mostly weak, often in the low double digits.
The only spot we have info for is Venice Pier. It’s a sandy beach break, open to the southwest, and a good spot for beginners. The water is running a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, about 67°F.
Let’s get into it. From Tuesday the 7th through Saturday the 18th, it’s a total write-off. Constant onshore and cross-onshore winds, with tiny swell – 1ft to 2ft, with very weak energy. Just forget it.
The only glimmer of hope is on Sunday the 19th of July in the morning. We’re looking at a glassy, flat ocean with barely a breath of wind. The swell is small, only 2ft from the SW, but it’s got a long period of 17 seconds – that’s proper groundswell. The energy is moderate at 285. This long-period swell at a beach break might be a bit fat, but with those glassy conditions, it’ll be clean as a whistle. The wind is dead calm. This is the standout in an otherwise dead forecast. It’ll be perfect for beginners, but don’t expect much power. The afternoon will be ruined by a moderate onshore breeze, so get out there early.
After that, it’s back to poor conditions. So, keep your eyes peeled for that Sunday morning, but don’t hold your breath for anything else. It’s a quiet spell for the area.
Rusty.
