Look, I gotta be straight with you – the next two weeks are lookin' pretty bleak. We're staring down a long run of tiny, weak, and messy surf, so if you're itching to paddle out, you'll need to be patient. There's a big gap of flat days to start, and then just a few windows where it gets barely rideable. The only flicker of real hope is a long way off.

The water is sitting at a balmy 73°F, which is *much* warmer than usual for this time of year – nearly 7°F above average. That's pretty wild, and you'll be comfortable in a shorty or even boardies if you can handle the chill.

Right from the get-go, Friday the 4th is a no-go. There's a tiny 2ft W swell with a short 5-second period, and while the morning wind is offshore, the energy is just 12 – it's a total dud. Saturday through the middle of the following week is almost completely flat, with no swell at all. You'd be better off finding something else to do.

We finally get a whisper of life on the morning of Sunday the 13th of September. A 2ft SW groundswell with a 13-second period rolls in, and the wind is light and cross-offshore, making it clean. The energy is moderate at 171, but it's still tiny. After that, we're back to windy, choppy junk for days.

There is one standout, but you have to wait for it. The best on offer is the Saturday morning of the 19th of September. We get a solid 2ft SW groundswell with a very long 18-second period. That long period means proper lines of energy (combined energy of 314), and with a light offshore breeze from the SSE, the place should be glassy and clean. Keep in mind that a long period swell like this can break a bit straight at a beach setup, but clean conditions will help. It's a reef break that's *inconsistent*, so don't expect a wave every minute, and the crowds can show up sometimes, so you'll have some company.

Honestly, for the next two weeks, that Saturday morning is your only real shot at something decent. The rest is a write-off. Don't bother with the afternoon that day – rain and onshore wind will kill it.
