Table - best surf conditions forecast for Toes Over over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Look, I’ve gotta be straight with you – the next couple of weeks at Toes Over are looking pretty grim. Don’t get your hopes up for any kind of decent session for a while. We’ve got a long dry spell ahead.
For the first week and a half, from Wednesday the 8th of July right through to the morning of Saturday the 18th of July, it’s basically a write-off. The swell is tiny, mostly around 1 ft to 3 ft, and the wave energy is weak (as low as 119). The wind is mostly onshore or cross-onshore, so it’s going to be choppy and messy. The water temp is sitting at 67°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s about the only positive. You’ll be wasting your time paddling out.
Then, we finally get a little flicker of life on the 19th of July. Sunday morning the swell picks up to 3 ft from the SSE with a 16-second period, and the combined energy jumps to 589 (moderate). The wind is light cross-onshore, so it’ll be a bit bumpy, but at least there’s some juice. Sunday afternoon looks slightly better with a 4 ft S swell and 842 energy, with light onshore wind. It’s still only marginal, but it’s the best we’ve seen in two weeks. Monday the 20th of July keeps that 3 ft to 4 ft S swell going, but again, the wind is light cross-onshore, so it’s not pristine.
Honestly, if you’re desperate, the standout in this whole sorry outlook is Sunday the 19th of July afternoon. The swell is 4 ft from the south, with a 16-second period, bringing some proper groundswell energy. The wind is light onshore, so it’ll be clean enough. It’s not going to be epic, but it’s the only window where you might get a few fun ones. For the rest of the period, it’s back to dribble.
Rusty.
