Table - best surf conditions forecast for Toes Over over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for Toes Over over the next couple of weeks.
Straight up, it’s a slow start. For the first week and a half, from Thursday the 9th right through to Friday the 17th, there’s almost nothing worth paddling out for. The swell is tiny, mostly 1ft to 3ft, and the wind’s either onshore or cross-onshore, chopping things up. The combined wave energy is weak, hovering between 125 and 347 (weak energy), and the period is decent but the swell just doesn’t have any push. It’s a long, flat stretch – about nine days of pretty poor conditions. Don’t bother waxing up.
Then, things get interesting. Saturday the 18th morning is the real standout. We’ve got a clean 2ft swell rolling in from the SSE, with a 17-second period – that’s a long-period groundswell pumping in some real energy. The combined energy jumps to 551 (moderate wave energy), and the wind is glassy – 5 mph from the WSW, which is offshore. That means clean, lined-up waves. This is the best on offer, no question. The swell is small enough for most skill levels, but that long period means it’ll be breaking a bit straight at the beach, so pick your peak carefully. The jetty might help line things up.
Saturday afternoon gets a bit messy with a 12 mph onshore wind, so the morning window is the magic time.
Sunday the 19th morning is a secondary option. Swell picks up to 4ft from the S, 14-second period, with a light cross-on breeze. The energy is strong at 629 (moderate wave energy), but the cross-on wind will put a bit of texture on the face. Still, it’s rideable and better than the flat spell we just had.
The rest of the window, from the 20th onward, drops back into the doldrums with small swell and onshore or cross-onshore winds. Not much to write home about.
Water temp is about average for the time of year, so no wetsuit surprises.
Overall, hold out for that Saturday the 18th morning glass-off. It’s the only real chance for a proper session.
Rusty.
