Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the cards.
To be straight with you, Toes Over is looking pretty flat and messy for the foreseeable future. The swell’s hanging around a tiny 1ft to 3ft, so we’re not talking about anything that’s going to get the heart pumping. The wind is mostly onshore or cross-onshore the whole time, which is a real shame – that offshores from the NE that this place likes just isn’t showing up. The water temp is running about average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
Starting off on Friday morning, 3rd July, you’ve got a 2ft SSW swell with a very long 16-second period. That’s a proper groundswell, but it’s weak with only a combined energy of 236 (weak). The wind is onshore, so it’s not going to be clean. The afternoon gets even smaller. This pattern just keeps on going. Saturday the 4th, Sunday the 5th, Monday the 6th – all tiny, all with poor surf conditions. The combined energy stays between 197 and 372 (weak to moderate), but it’s all for nothing with the onshore flow.
It’s not until Tuesday morning, 7th July, that we see a small bump – a 3ft SSW swell, still on that 18-second period, with energy up to 460 (moderate). But again, the wind is onshore. This is about as good as it gets, which isn't saying much. The morning of Wednesday the 8th is another semi-okay moment with 3ft and energy at 507 (moderate), but the wind is cross-onshore, so you’ll have wind ripples to deal with.
After that, it fades away again. By the second week, from around the 11th of July onwards, the swell drops even more – 1.0ft to 2ft, with energy falling back below 200 (weak). There’s a tiny flicker on Saturday morning the 18th of July with a 2ft SW swell, 18-second period, and the wind finally turns light onshore from the SSW. That’s a bit of a tease. But the overall picture? A long, quiet stretch with no real standouts.
Forget about paddle surfing here for a while – with these tiny waves, consistent onshore wind, and a beach/jetty setup, this looks more interesting for kite surfing than anything else. It’s a blank run, but for this area, that’s not unusual. Forecasts can always change, but as it stands, don’t get your hopes up.
