Table - best surf conditions forecast for Toes Over over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have an honest look at what Toes Over has on offer for the next couple of weeks. I gotta be straight with you – it’s a pretty grim run ahead.
Right off the bat, we’ve got a bit of a wait. There’s no real surf on the cards until the forecast period begins now, but the first day with anything worth paddling out for is Wednesday, July 9th, and even then it’s a struggle. We’re looking at a long dry spell from now until then with no recommendations at all.
For the whole first week, it’s pretty much all poor surf conditions. We start off Tuesday, July 7th with a small 3ft SSW swell and a long period of 18 seconds. That long-period groundswell usually means better shaped waves at a reef or point, but at a beach/jetty setup like Toes Over, it can break too straight. The combined swell energy is moderate at 464, but the wind is onshore, ruining any chance of a clean wave. The water is sitting at 67°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year.
Everything through the rest of the week and into the next is marginal at best. Small swells between 1ft and 2ft, mostly from the SSW, with onshore or cross-onshore winds. The combined energy drops from 447 all the way down to 118. There's no standout session here.
Now, I’ll point out the one bright spot, even if it’s a week and a half away. On Saturday, July 19th, we get a little blip of hope. Sunday, July 19th morning shows a 2ft swell from the SW with a 17-second period. The combined energy bumps up to 285. But the real beauty is the wind – glassy. Dead calm. That’s rare and it will make that small groundswell look as clean as it possibly can. It’s the only time in this whole outlook where the conditions line up for a legit surf. Keep your expectations in check though, because it’s still only 2ft. The afternoon blows out again with a moderate onshore breeze.
Overall, it’s a tough stretch. For a break that’s fairly consistent, this is a blank run that feels long. Forecasts can change, but right now, only that Sunday, July 19th morning has the magic word: glassy.
