The Lowdown
Alright, let’s break it down. For the next week and a half, Toes Over is mostly a no-go. The swell is tiny, and the wind is junk. But there are a couple of late windows that are worth scratching down.
From now through the 22nd of July, it’s a frustrating run. We’re looking at ankle-to-knee high surf, 1 to 2 ft, with the wind blowing onshore or cross-onshore from the SW and S. The combined energy is low, between 130 and 395, which is weak. The water is a wild 70°, which is a huge 5° warmer than usual for this time of year.
The first real hope comes on the morning of Friday the 24th of July. The wind goes glassy, coming in light from the SSW at 5 km/h, and the swell picks up to 3 ft from the S with a 14-second period. The energy jumps to 349 (combined energy), and the forecast says “expect good surf conditions.” It’s clean, and it’s the first decent morning.
The real standout is the morning of Saturday the 25th of July. Glassy conditions again, with the wind from the SW at 5 km/h. The swell is 4 ft from the SSW with a 14-second period. The energy is a solid 683 (combined energy). The morning is the call here—clean, glassy, and the best wave of the whole forecast. The afternoon gets onshore again.
The following mornings, like the 27th and 28th, have some energy (518 and 368 combined energy) with small swell, but the wind is onshore, making it a marginal call.
So, blunt truth: the first 10 days are a bust. The only two windows worth chasing are the mornings of the 24th and 25th of July, with the 25th being the clear winner for a clean, fun session.
