Table - best surf conditions forecast for Toes Over over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s see what we’ve got.
It’s been a quiet stretch, and it’s going to stay that way for a while. We’re looking at a long gap of poor to marginal surf right through to the 18th of July. The swell is tiny, mostly under 2 feet, with a lot of onshore or cross-onshore wind messing it up. The water temp is about normal for this time of year, nothing wild.
The first real chance for a decent paddle comes Saturday the 18th of July. Toes Over (beach/jetty) has a 2-foot SSW groundswell, with a 18-second period. The combined swell energy hits 395 in the morning, which is a solid jump from the weak readings. The wind is light cross-onshore from the SSE at 6 mph, so it’s workable. That long period means the wave will have some push and shape, even though it’s small. The break is fairly consistent, but you might have some company.
The afternoon of that same day looks even better on the energy front. The swell energy jumps to 555 with a 2-foot SSE groundswell, 18-second period. The wind is a light onshore from the SW at 9 mph, so it’s a little bumpy, but there’s enough juice to make it fun. It’s a beach/jetty setup, so that long period might make it a bit straight, but you’ll find a few.
Sunday the 19th of July morning is the best call. You’ve got a 2-foot SW groundswell, 17-second period, and combined energy of 478. The wind is light cross-onshore from the SSW at 6 mph, so the surface should be clean. This is the standout – the energy is strong, the wind is light, and the waves are small but lined up. Crowds are possible.
Nothing here gets over 3 feet, so it’s all small-wave gear. The best days are the 18th and 19th of July. After that, we’re back to the wait. For a beach break with that long period, expect some closeouts, but there’s fun to be had.
Rusty.
