Alright, it’s Rusty here with a look at what’s coming for Silveira. Let’s talk about the waves.

The next couple of days are pretty quiet, with some small, rideable waves hanging around, but nothing that’ll get you out of bed. Tuesday morning, August 4th, we’re looking at a little 0.9m swell from the SSE with a nice, long 12-second pulse. The water’s sitting at a comfortable 19° and about average for the time of year. The wind is light and cross-off from the north, which will keep things pretty clean. The combined energy’s moderate (331), so it’s a nice, easy paddle, but the size is small. This is the best bet early on, but it’s really just a warm-up.

Wednesday morning on the 5th gets even smaller with 0.8m and glassy conditions – dead calm from the WNW. The swell period drops to 10 seconds, and the energy is weak (165). It’s surfable, but very ordinary. By Thursday the 6th and Friday the 7th, we’ve got a shift to a short-period, small ENE swell (7-8 seconds) with light cross-off winds. Again, clean, but nothing special. The energy stays weak those mornings.

Now, here’s where things get interesting. Saturday, August 8th, the swell picks up to 1.8m from the SSE, with a long 12-second period. The combined energy jumps to a strong 1205. The wind is a moderate cross-off from the NNE, keeping it clean. This one’s got some punch, and Silveira (point) should be handling it well. At 1.8m, it’s pushing into the intermediate zone, so not for beginners, but for the rest of us, this is the first real standout of the outlook.

We’ve then got a run of mixed quality through the middle of the week. Sunday the 9th is messy with onshore winds, and Monday the 10th sees a solid 1.9m S swell at 13 seconds, but the wind is cross-off from the SW. The energy is very strong (1973), and it looks clean on the Monday afternoon, but there’s talk of light rain. It’s got potential, but the *real* standout might be Thursday, August 13th. The morning session shows 1.7m from the SSE with a 12-second period, light cross-off wind from the SW, and clean waves. The energy is high (895). That’s a serious window for some well-shaped lines at the point.

Looking further out, Friday afternoon, August 14th, is a sneaky good call. We’ve got 1.4m from the SSE, a very long 13-second groundswell, and glassy conditions with a light NNE breeze. That’s “excellent for experienced surfers” with the combined energy reading 1036. The longer period means it’ll be a bit more powerful and better for the point break setup. Keep an eye on that.

By the weekend of the 16th and 17th, the swell drops off and the winds turn messy. There’s still some 1.4m - 1.5m swell around, but it’s short-period and cross-onshore, so it’s not looking good for a paddle. Into the final days, the 19th of August brings a big spike – 3.0m from the S, but with a fresh cross-shore wind and a short 9-second period. That size is expert territory, and the conditions look lumpy, so that might be more of a spectacle than a session.

Overall, the best windows are Saturday the 8th and Thursday the 13th for solid, clean, long-period swell. The Friday the 14th afternoon is the one for the experienced crew looking for glassy, powerful waves.
