Table - best surf conditions forecast for Siriu over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Let’s talk about Siriu.
Right now, there’s nothing doing. Thursday the 9th is a write-off—nasty cross-shores and choppy junk. You’d be wasting your time. But hang tight, because things start cleaning up Friday morning.
Friday 10 July is when it gets interesting. First light sees glassy conditions with a light SSW breeze, and a tidy 3ft swell rolling in from the ESE with a long 12-second period. That’s proper groundswell energy, and the combined energy is sitting at a moderate 314. The water’s sitting at 59°F, which is a whopping 7°F colder than normal for this time of year—that’s seriously unusual, so bring the thick rubber. This is the standout of the whole run: clean little waves for a beginner, and the offshore wind is aligned just right. Crowds are sometimes a thing here, so you might have a few mates out, but nothing mental.
Saturday 11 July pushes the swell up to 4ft with a 13-second period from the ESE, combined energy jumping to a strong 624, but the rain and a north cross-breeze will put a bit of crumble on the face. Still plenty of fun for a beginner, but not as pristine as Friday.
Sunday 12 July morning is the big tick for experienced surfers. Swell hits 5ft from the south at 11 seconds, and combined energy surges to a massive 1399—that’s strong wave energy. The wind is a clean cross-offshore from the southwest, and the conditions are described as excellent. This is proper juice, but at 5ft it’s pushing the limit for beginners—better for those who know what they’re doing. The afternoon gets a bit windier with rain showers, though still clean.
Monday 13 July morning keeps the clean theme going with 6ft swell from the south, an 8-second period, and combined energy of 809—still strong. The wind stays cross-offshore, and it’s shaping up very good for experienced surfers. But that short period means the waves will be a bit dumpy and less organised.
After Monday, it goes pretty quiet. Tuesday through Thursday the 16th is mostly onshore winds and chopped-out slop—nothing worth paddling for. There’s a gap of several days with no real recommendations.
Friday 17 July morning offers a brief glimmer: glassy conditions again, 5ft swell from the NE at 8 seconds, combined energy 427. That’s moderate energy and clean faces, but short period again—so a bit soft. Possibly fun for a beginner session if you’re keen.
Then another dry spell rolls in through the 18th to 22nd—cross-shores, onshores, messy all round. The swell sits around 4–6ft but the wind just doesn’t play ball. A few mornings are glassy or clean, but the quality is marginal.
Thursday 23 July morning shows some life again: a clean cross-offshore from the SSW, 5ft swell from the ENE at 8 seconds, combined energy 316. It’s a moderate session, nothing epic, but the wind’s right.
The real late-run standout is Friday 24 July morning. Glassy as a mirror, light rain, 5ft south swell at 8 seconds, combined energy 527—moderate to strong. This has the potential for a very good session, especially with that glassy surface. The swell direction (south) isn’t the optimum east, but the clean conditions could still make it a ripper. It’s promising but still a week and a half out, so keep an eye on it.
Overall, the best on offer is Friday 10 July morning for beginners wanting clean 3ft groundswell, and Sunday 12 July morning for experienced surfers chasing 5ft of powerful, clean south swell. Everything else is gaps and marginal stuff.
Rusty.
