Praia d'Agua Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s coming our way. I’ve been staring at the charts for the next couple of weeks, and there’s a bit of a mixed bag ahead. We’ve got some proper windows of fun, but also some stretches where you might be better off cleaning the wax off your board and waiting for the next pulse.

The ocean’s gonna be a bit of a tease to start. We’re looking at a gap of a couple of days before anything really gets going. The first notable window kicks off on the morning of Thursday the 10th. It’s not huge, but the conditions are looking sweet. We’ve got a clean 3ft south swell rolling in with a nice 12-second period. The wind is dead glassy, which is a major win. The water is reading a touch cold for this time of year, sitting at 62°F, which is about 4°F colder than usual, so grab the booties if you’re sensitive. This is the most promising start we’ll see for a bit. The energy is moderate (421), but it’s clean and the direction is right.

That vibe gets a little sketchy by the afternoon as the wind swings around, and things pretty much flatten out and get messy for Friday through the weekend. Saturday the 12th looks like it could be fun if you’re an experienced surfer. The swell jumps up to 8ft from the south, but it’s a bit short-period at 9 seconds. The wind is offshore though, which will keep it clean at Praia d'Agua. That’s a solid, powerful option, but the shorter period might make it a bit lumpy.

After that, the forecast gets a little more challenging. The waves stay rideable but the winds turn onshore and the quality drops. We go through a stretch from Sunday the 13th through Monday the 14th where it’s mostly poor, with some rain and cross-shore breezes making things choppy. Not really worth paddling out for unless you’re desperate for a paddle.

The next real standout looks to be on the morning of Tuesday the 15th. We’ve got a clean 6ft swell, a light offshore wind, and the conditions are looking prime. The energy is strong (696), and it should be a really fun session before the onshore breeze picks up in the afternoon.

The following morning, Wednesday the 16th, has some promise with a clean 4ft SSW swell and gentle offshore winds. It’s a bit smaller, but the quality should be there.

Now, for the second week, things get a little more uncertain. The long-range forecast is promising but you know how that goes. We’ve got a window on Thursday the 17th where the swell looks solid at 5-6ft from the south, but the wind is going to be blowing onshore, and that’s going to kill it for us. That one looks like a mess.

The rest of that week into the weekend and early the following week just looks pretty grim. There’s not much energy behind the swells, and the wind is all over the place. From about the 21st onward, it looks like we’re going to go flat for a good stretch. The swell drops right off, and for a few days there’s just nothing on offer. It’s a real blank run for the area, which can happen. But don't lose hope, the forecasts can shift.

So, summing it up, your two best bets are the glassy Thursday morning session on the 10th, and the cleaner, more powerful Tuesday morning on the 15th. For the more experienced among you, Saturday the 12th is worth a look, but the short period swell might make it a bit tricky. Just remember, the long-range stuff is less certain, so keep an eye on the charts.
