Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what Lake Ontario is offering up.
Well, I gotta be straight with you – this is a tough one. The entire 16-day forecast window is a flat, blank run. From now through August 22nd, there’s just no swell to speak of. The combined wave energy is sitting at zero for the whole period. It’s a real bummer, and honestly, for Lake Ontario, a stretch like this is more normal than you’d hope. We’re stuck in a pattern of poor surf conditions with nothing to ride.
The water at Ontario Beach (Ontario-Beach) is about 73°, which is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year, but that’s small comfort when there aren't any waves.
We do get some decent wind conditions, especially on the 15th and 16th of August with light offshore breezes from the south and southeast, and even a glassy morning on the 19th and 20th. But with no swell, it’s just a flat, clean lake. It’s the kind of setup that looks more interesting for a paddleboard or a kayak than a surfboard.
There are no standout days, no hidden gems. The forecast just doesn't have any surf in it. We’ll have to keep our fingers crossed that the long-range models change, because it can’t stay this flat forever.
Rusty, signing off.
