Table - best surf conditions forecast for Marlin over the next 16 days.

Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for the next couple of weeks.

Honestly, it's a pretty grim stretch for Marlin. We're staring down a long, quiet run with no real surf to get excited about for a good while. The water is sitting at a warm 79°, which is about average for this time of year, so at least you won't be cold while you're waiting.

The first week is a total write-off. From Monday the 13th right through to Sunday the 19th, the conditions are just plain poor. The swell is either tiny, messy, or blown out by a cross-onshore wind. The wave energy is weak, barely cracking 100 or 200 (166 to 819) at the end of the week, but it's all lumpy and choppy. Not a single session worth paddling out for.

Heading into the second week, from Monday the 20th to Sunday the 26th, the story doesn't change much. The swell sticks around the 3 ft to 5 ft mark, but the period is short (8 seconds or so) and the winds are still onshore or cross-onshore. The energy is still low (227 to 425). It's just consistent, mediocre conditions. There's nothing to get the heart pumping.

The only glimmer on the horizon happens right at the very end of the forecast, on Tuesday the 28th. The swell is still only 4 ft to 5 ft, but the period jumps up to a very long 18-19 seconds. This is a proper groundswell, and the combined energy spikes to 1626-2118, which is strong. The wind is onshore, but light. Now, a long-period swell like this can be a bit of a tease at a beach break like Marlin, as it can break too straight. It's a "marginal" call, so keep an eye on it, but it's the only thing that even looks like it might offer a couple of rideable waves. It's a long way off, though, so don't pin your hopes on it just yet.

Signing off,
Rusty
