Table - best surf conditions forecast for Marlin over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on offer for our local stretch, Marlin.
To be brutally honest, the next two weeks are looking grim. The jet stream isn’t playing ball at all. We’ve got a long, barren run here. Straight off the bat, there’s no surf worth paddling out for from Friday the 10th of July right through to the 25th. That’s over two weeks of flat, junk conditions. The forecast is stuffed with cross-onshore winds and weak, short-period slop that’s just not gonna shape up. The first few days are a total wipeout.
Around the 15th and 16th of July, the swell tries to pick up a bit, with the combined energy getting up there (583 to 933), but the wind is a mess – fresh and moderate cross-onshore breezes turning the sea into a lumpy, choppy mess. That’s not surfable, that’s a washing machine. That kind of setup, with solid swell but ugly onshore wind, would be more interesting for kite surfers than paddle surfers.
There’s a tiny glimmer on the morning of Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th. The swell drops a touch to 5 ft - 5.6 ft from the SSE with a period around 11 seconds. The wind goes light, but it’s still cross-onshore, leaving it a marginal call at best. Those mornings are listed as a one out of ten – basically, it might be just about doable for a dedicated beginner looking for a soft wave, but don’t expect any quality.
Consistency is a total zero here for the entire period. This kind of blank run is pretty normal for the area when the patterns lock into a bad cycle. Keep your board in the car, check the charts daily, but honestly, I wouldn’t hold your breath for another couple of weeks. Water temps are sitting at a warm 79.5°F, which is about average for this time of year, so at least you won’t freeze while you’re staring at the flatness.
Short Range ForecastMostly dry. Warm (max 26°C on Fri afternoon, min 22°C on Sun night). Wind will be generally light. | Days 4-6 Weather SummaryHeavy rain (total 24mm), heaviest during Wed morning. Warm (max 26°C on Tue morning, min 23°C on Mon morning). Wind will be generally light. | ||||||||||||||||||||
