Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tiririca over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s ahead for Tiririca.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you: the next few days are pretty flat and messy. The good news is, there’s a pulse of energy coming, but you’ll have to wait for it. The first real chance to get wet doesn’t show up until Tuesday the 14th, and even then, it’s a bit of a gamble.
The water at Tiririca is sitting at 79°F, which is about normal for this time of year, so no surprises there.
Tuesday afternoon (14th July) sees a jump in size to 7 ft, but it’s a short-period S swell at 7 seconds, and the wind is cross-off from the south. The combined energy is moderate (397). It’s a bit raw, and the short period means it’ll be a bit lumpy and less powerful. It’s really only for the keen guys who don’t mind a bit of chop.
Wednesday morning (15th July) is a similar story: 6 ft from the SSE, still short period (7 seconds), with a clean cross-off breeze. The wave energy is still moderate (416). It’s a passable option for the experienced crew, but nothing to write home about.
Thursday afternoon (16th July) is where things start to get interesting. The swell jumps to 5 ft from the SSE, and the period stretches out to 14 seconds – that’s a proper groundswell. The combined energy jumps to a strong 1052. The wind is cross, so it’s not perfect, but that long period brings in some real grunt. This is the best looking session so far.
Friday the 17th is the standout. Both morning and afternoon see 6 ft of SE swell with a 12-13 second period. The energy is strong (1269 and 1173). The wind is a gentle cross-shore, keeping it clean enough. This is the one to circle on the calendar. It’s a solid size for the more experienced, but the long period will make the sets a bit more spaced out, which is a good thing. It’s going to be a good day.
Saturday morning (18th July) is a nice little bonus: 4 ft, 11-second period, and glassy cross-off winds from the SSW. The energy is moderate (422), but the conditions will be clean. A good morning for the ones who missed the Friday action.
Sunday morning (19th July) is a smaller version of Saturday: 3 ft, 10-second period, and again, glassy cross-off winds. Super clean, but small. A good board-changer session.
Beyond that, the second week fades a bit. Wednesday morning (22nd July) is worth a mention: 5 ft from the east with a short 8-second period, but the light offshore from the south will keep it clean. Then, way out on Sunday 26th July, an interesting long-period swell shows up: 4 ft from the SSE, 14-15 seconds, with light cross-on winds. The energy is moderate to strong (652-775). It’s a long-range call, but it could be a decent little wrap.
So, to sum it up: wait for Friday the 17th of July. That’s your best bet. Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning are solid follow-ups. The rest is a mix of small, choppy, or just average.
Stay stoked.
Rusty.
