Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tiririca over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s get into it. The only break on the cards here is Tiririca, and it’s a bit of a slow burn for the next week or so. For a beginner-friendly spot that’s consistent, there’s a lot of waiting around before we see anything really worth paddling out for.
The water is sitting at 79°, which is about 1° warmer than average for this time of year – nothing too wild, just a touch on the balmy side.
The first few days look pretty average. Saturday the 11th has some small 4ft swell from the SE with a period of 13 seconds, so there’s a bit of energy there (moderate energy at 535), but the wind is cross and the word on the forecast is "marginal" – it’s not going to be any kind of classic. Sunday and Monday are even smaller, dropping to 3ft and 3ft, with energy fading fast. Not worth getting excited about.
Tuesday the 14th sees a change – the wind swings to the S, going cross-off, but the swell drops to 2ft in the morning. By the afternoon, a new pulse of 6ft shows up, but it’s a short period 6-second wind swell, so it’s going to be a bit of a mess. Wednesday similarly has 6ft but only 7 seconds, and the wind picks up to 16 mph from the SSE, so it’s going to be a chop-fest. That’s more of a kite-surfing setup than a clean paddle session.
Things start to get interesting around the 16th and 17th. Thursday the 16th afternoon has 6ft from the SSE with a period of 13 seconds, and the energy jumps to 956 – that’s solid. But the wind is still cross, and the report says "marginal". Friday the 17th is the real standout. Morning sees 7ft from the SE with a 13-second period, and the combined energy is a huge 2658 – that’s strong stuff. The wind is light cross-on, so it’s not perfect, but it’s the biggest swell of the window. The afternoon drops to 7ft but the energy is still 1384. This is expert territory at over 8ft in the morning, but for the experienced crew, this is the best on offer.
After that, it fades. Saturday the 18th drops to 4ft, and from Sunday the 19th onwards, it’s small and inconsistent. The 19th morning does have glassy conditions with 4ft, but the period is only 10 seconds, so it’s not going to have much punch. The rest of the second week is mostly 3ft to 4ft with short period (8 seconds or less) and onshore winds – not worth planning around.
Bottom line: the only real highlight is Friday the 17th, with a big, long-period SE swell. If you’re an expert, that morning session could be the one to aim for. The rest of the 16 days is mostly average to poor, with a lot of marginal conditions and small, weak swell. For a spot that’s usually consistent, this is a patchy run, but forecasts can change, so don’t write it off completely.
