Table - best surf conditions forecast for Siesta over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty. Let’s call it how I see it for the local stretch.
We’ve got a mighty quiet outlook ahead, honestly. Siesta, our only real option on the radar, isn’t cooperating. The whole 16-day window looks like it’s going to be a tough one for anyone looking for a proper session. There’s a big gap right from the start with no good surf on offer, and that pretty much covers the first week. It’s not until the second half of the run that we see anything worth paddling for, and even then, it’s nothing to phone home about.
Starting on Friday July 10th through to late July, it’s nearly all small, weak swell and mostly poor quality. The water’s sitting at 88°F, which is 4°F warmer than average for this time of year — noticeably warm, like bathwater, which is unusual for us. That’s the only standout early on.
Friday morning the 10th: tiny 0.7ft south swell with a short 4-second period. Combined wave energy is just 2, so basically nothing. Winds are light and cross-off from the SE, so it looks clean, but there’s simply no push. Afternoon gets messy with onshore W wind and a risk of storms.
Saturday the 11th: still flat. 2ft south swell in the morning, period at 5 seconds, energy at 13. Crosswind from the SSE. Not worth getting wet.
Sunday the 12th through to Thursday the 17th: honestly, it’s a write-off. Waves mostly under 1ft or flat, often onshore wind. Energy values stay below 10 most days. A few mornings offer light offshore or cross-off winds from the ENE or NE, keeping it clean, but with no swell to work with, you’re just sitting on a glassy lake.
Friday the 17th afternoon: a tiny uptick — 1ft NW swell, but it’s onshore W wind and energy is only 4. Not a session.
From around Monday the 20th into Tuesday the 21st, we finally see a slight rise. Swell builds to 2ft from the west on Tuesday morning, period still short at 4 seconds, but combined energy reaches 16 — the highest we see in the whole forecast. Winds are cross-on from the SW, so not glassy, but it’s the most energy of the entire run. Still, 2ft and period under 8 seconds means weak, crumbly waves.
Thursday the 23rd morning: another tiny clean window with 0.7ft from the west, cross-off SSE breeze at 6 mph. Energy is only 1. You’d be chasing ankle-biters.
The rest of the run through to Saturday the 25th stays small, with 0.7ft to 1ft swells, mostly onshore wind, and energy barely reaching 4.
Look, there’s no standout day here. The best on offer would be Tuesday morning the 21st, with the highest combined energy (16) and 2ft of west swell, but it’s still far from firing. Expect small, weak, and mostly messy conditions. If you’re a beginner, none of this is too big to handle — it’s all under 5ft — but the quality is so low it’s barely worth it. For experienced surfers, there’s nothing to get excited about.
Crowds? Likely no issue — there’s nothing to crowd for.
So I’ll keep it real: this is a lean stretch. The area’s just not producing. Keep an eye on the charts — it doesn’t normally stay this poor for this long, and forecasts can shift.
Stay tuned,
Rusty
