Table - best surf conditions forecast for Mallorca - Paguera Tora over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let me be straight with you – it’s gonna be a pretty flat stretch for a while. We’re looking at a solid gap of no good surf for over a week. The first chance for anything even remotely rideable doesn’t show up until Friday the 24th, meaning you’re looking at a slow, flat run for well over a week from now.
Alright, let's get into it.
Honestly, I’m not stoked on what I’m seeing for Mallorca - Paguera Tora. This break is a beach and reef setup that’s “rarely breaks” anyway, so a blank run like this is more normal than you'd hope. The ocean’s just not giving us anything. For day after day, the swell heights are a joke, barely making it past 0.6 ft, and when there is a little bump, the periods are short and weak. The energy readings are tanking – we're talking single-digit or zero values – a total washout.
For the first spot I’m checking on, the water temp on July 10th is sitting at a very unusual 82°F, which is a massive 6°F warmer than normal for this time of year.
Friday July 10th through to Thursday July 23rd is a write-off. We’ve got cross-off and offshore winds at times, sure, but you need waves for those to mean anything. You can’t surf flat, clean water. The swell just isn't there. It’s frustrating.
There is a slight flicker of life on Friday July 24th. The morning shows the first real sign of energy, with a 3 ft SSE swell building, period up to 6 seconds, and cross-off winds. The energy climbs to a moderate 49. It's still not good, but it's the only pulse on the horizon. The afternoon gets messy – swell jumps to 6 ft from the SW with a 6-second period, and the energy hits 218, but the wind turns cross-on and choppy. For a beach and reef break, that’s a messy combo, and it might actually be more interesting for the kite surfers than paddle surfers.
Then on Saturday July 25th, the morning is showing a 3 ft SSW swell, period hitting 7 seconds, and it’s clean with cross-off winds (energy 70). The comment calls it “surfable waves but very ordinary conditions” – and I’d say that’s the best we’ve got in the whole run. It’s not a standout, it’s just the only option.
So, if you’re desperate, keep an eye on the morning of Saturday the 25th. It’s promising at this range, but don’t hold your breath. For now, take the board off the car, give it a wax, and wait.
Rusty.
