The Lowdown
Alright, this is a bit of a tough one. We’re looking at the Bandol - Les Nervis zone, and honestly, for the next week and a half, it’s pretty flat. The water’s sitting at a balmy 81°, which is way warmer than usual for this time of year—like 7° above normal—so at least the swims will be nice.
Right now, through the 12th and 13th, there’s nothing. Zero. Nada. The wind’s light and even glassy at times, but with no swell to push through, it’s just a lake. We get a tiny pulse on the 14th, maybe 0.7ft from the WSW with a 3-second period, but that’s barely a ripple. That flat spell runs right through until the 16th.
Then on the 17th, things start to stir. Monday afternoon, the wind goes offshore from the WNW at 22 mph, and we get a 5ft swell from the west with a 7-second period. The combined energy is moderate at 179. It’s clean, but that’s a lot of wind to paddle into, and the break is inconsistent—it rarely works—so you’d be working hard for not much.
The real standout, the one that’s got my heart pumping, is the 24th of August. Monday afternoon, we’ve got a 10ft swell from the WNW with a 7-second period. The combined energy is a massive 868—strong, powerful stuff. The wind is offshore and fresh at 22 mph, so it’ll be clean. But mate, that’s *too big* for this spot. It’s a beach and reef setup, and over 8ft, it’s expert-only. The forecast says it’s too big for the break, so unless you’re a seasoned charger with a big gun, stay out of the water. For the average surfer, Monday the 19th to the 24th is a long wait with nothing worth paddling for.
All in all, don’t get your hopes up for the next two weeks. There’s a window on the 24th for the brave, but for everyone else, the forecasts might change, but right now, it’s a bust.
