The Lowdown
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's have a look at what's on the cards for the Bandol area.
Straight up, I gotta be honest with you – the next two weeks are looking pretty flat for the most part. We've got a long stretch of nothing, with the first real chance of a wave not showing up until Wednesday the 9th of September. That's a solid gap of over a week with hardly any rideable surf. The water is sitting at 76°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that's about the only thing that's pumping.
The standout, and really the only event worth talking about, is the early morning of Wednesday the 9th. We're looking at a solid 10ft swell pushing in from the WNW, with a period of 7 seconds. The combined wave energy is strong (851). The wind is offshore from the NW at 12 mph, so it'll be clean. But here's the catch – at that size, this is strictly for experts only. It's going to be a heavy, powerful mess, and the report even says it might be too big for this break. It's a beach and reef setup, so it'll be a handful.
For the rest of the window, the swell is tiny, the period is short, and the energy is weak. You'll see some small waves on the 8th of September, but with a 31 mph offshore wind, it'll be a battle to even get out. The 12th of September has a bit of size (5ft), but the wind is onshore and messy, so it's a no-go. Honestly, this is a period where you're better off just leaving the boards in the shed.
Rusty.
