Alright, let's be straight up about Bandol – Les Nervis (France). It’s going to be a real quiet stretch for the next week or so. There are some tiny waves popping up here and there, but they’re all being written off as poor surf conditions. You're looking at a lot of flat spells with no recommendations at all. The first real blip of interest doesn't show up until Saturday the 5th of September.
That Saturday morning starts with clean, moderate offshore wind from the NW, but it’s still flat. Then, Saturday afternoon sees a jump in energy. The combined swell energy hits a moderate 256, with a 6 ft swell from the WNW and a period of 6 seconds. That's a bit of a short-period wind swell, and it’s going to be a bit raw, but with that moderate offshore wind keeping it clean, it's the only time in the whole outlook where there's actually some push. At 6 ft, it’s getting a bit much for true beginners. The water is about average for the time of year.
For the rest of the run, it’s mostly tiny dribbles or flat, with onshore winds making a mess of things from the 7th onwards. The break is inconsistent anyway, so this run of poor conditions isn’t a huge surprise. There’s no real standout here; Saturday the 5th is your one and only chance to get wet, and even then, it’s not going to be classic. The swell direction is a touch off the optimum, and the period is short, so don't expect any perfection. The setup looks more interesting for a kite session than a proper paddle surf on that Saturday.
