The Lowdown
Alright, let’s talk about the next stretch here. To be straight with you, it’s gonna be a slow grind for a while. We’re looking at a real dry spell for the first week, so don’t get your hopes up for the beginning. It’s not until Friday the 7th that we finally see something worth paddling out for, and even then, it’s a one-hit wonder before things back off again.
The standout in this whole window is clearly the Friday morning session. We’ve got a solid new pulse of WNW swell pushing in at 6ft, and the wind is light and offshore out of the north. That combo is going to make Brutal Beach - Six Fours (Six-Fours) look a whole lot better than it has all week. The energy is moderate at 312, and the period is a touch short at 6 seconds, so it’s not going to be a world-beater, but it’ll be clean, lined up, and a whole lot of fun for a beginner-friendly spot. The offshore wind is a major plus, so get on it early before the sea breeze mucks it up in the afternoon.
After that, the swell drops right back out. Saturday and Sunday are flat, and we go through a long stretch of nothing but small, weak, and messy waves. The 19th and 20th show another bump in size, with 6ft on the cards, but the wind is all wrong – onshore and choppy. It’s a classic case of the ocean having the size but not the polish. The water temp is about average for this time of year, so just rock your usual spring suit.
All in all, if you’re keen, you’ve got one window, and it’s Friday morning. Otherwise, save the gas money and wait for the next system to sort itself out.
