Table - best surf conditions forecast for Honeymoon Island over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at the forecast for Honeymoon Island. I'll be straight with you – it's a quiet stretch ahead. We've got a 16-day window, but the first recommendation doesn't come until Tuesday, July 14th. Before that, it's a mix of onshore wind and tiny dribble, so don't bother paddling out. From that point on, it stays marginal, but there are a few windows where things clean up enough for a session.
Starting Tuesday, July 14th, we finally get a little something. The morning sees a small pulse of 2ft swell from the WNW, and the real saviour is a light offshore wind from the east at 9 mph. That offshore breeze will make the surface glassy and clean, even if the waves are small. The combined swell energy is still weak at (20), but for a rarely breaking sandbar like this, an offshore day is your best bet. The water is sitting at a very warm 89°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year – a real standout anomaly. The afternoon gets choppy again as the wind swings NW and picks up, so get it early.
After that, the rest of the week and into the next is a rinse-and-repeat of cross-to onshore winds and tiny swell, never topping 3ft. There's a brief cleaner window on the morning of Wednesday, July 15th, with a light ENE breeze at 3 mph, but the swell is even smaller at 1ft and the energy is minimal at (8). It's barely worth a mention.
Looking further out, around Tuesday, July 21st, the swell does start to build a touch, reaching 3ft from the west by the afternoon, and the combined energy climbs to (25). But the wind is cross-on or onshore from the WSW, making it messy. This pattern holds right through to the end of the window on July 26th, with the biggest day being Saturday, July 25th, with a 3ft west swell and moderate (42) energy, but again, onshore wind from the west.
Honestly, for a spot that rarely breaks and with so much onshore wind, the only standout is that Tuesday, July 14th morning session. If you're desperate for a paddle, that's your window for a few clean, knee-high waves. Otherwise, it's a long wait.
Rusty.
