Honeymoon Island Surf Guide

Honeymoon Island in Gulf Coast, Florida is a fairly exposed sandbar break. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the east. The short fetch makes for windswells rather than groundswells and the best wave direction is from the southwest. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Rocks are a hazard.

“Honeymoon island is not a place for surfing, maybe kite and windsurfing. The beach can be crowded at times you need to pay admission before entering. Usually, admission is done by car it can be anywhere between 4$ - $9 depending on how many people are in the car with you.

Currently, Oasis beach is now closed because they are putting two million dollars of sand on the beach that had eroded. Hurricane ETA did a lot of erosion to the north part of the beach changing the appearance

During the COVID-19 crisis, the beach also has not been very crowded”
