Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cromer over the next 16 days.
G'day, Rusty here. Look, I've scanned the charts for Cromer over the next couple of weeks, and I've got to be straight with you – it's looking pretty bleak for a proper paddle. There are no standout days, no real surf to get excited about. The whole 16-day window is basically one long gap of poor conditions. The swell just isn't showing up with any real punch, and when it does, the wind is almost always ruining it. You're looking at a run of flat to tiny, messy waves.
Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th, we've got nothing. Tiny little 1.0ft to 2ft waves with weak energy (20), and the wind is all over the shop – cross-onshore, making it choppy and poor. Not worth getting the board wet.
Friday the 10th through to Sunday the 12th, the swell tries to bump up a touch, hitting 4ft on the Sunday morning with a bit more energy in the water (128), but the wind stays stubbornly cross-onshore from the NE and NNE, getting up to 19 mph. That means choppy, lumpy, and just horrible shape. That Sunday afternoon is a write-off with a fresh breeze.
Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th, we drop back to under 3ft, still with that nasty cross-onshore chop. It's just a grind of weak, wind-affected dribble.
Wednesday the 15th through to Saturday the 18th, we see a bit more size, with 4ft to 4ft swell from the NE and a couple of windows of clean wind, like Friday afternoon with a light onshore from the N and 4ft (106). But even then, the quality is still marked as poor surf conditions. It's not exactly calling your name.
From the 19th through to the 23rd of July, it's all tiny again – 0.7ft to 2ft – with mostly cross-shore or cross-offshore winds. There's a brief moment on Tuesday the 21st morning where we get glassy conditions with a tiny 2ft swell from the N, but the energy is pitiful (13). It’s a flat spell.
Honestly, for a spot like Cromer, which is a beach/pier setup that's fairly consistent, this blank run is a bit of a surprise, but it happens. With the constant cross-onshore winds and tiny swell, the setup here looks far more interesting for a kite surfer than anyone with a paddle. Keep your hopes up – these forecasts can change, but for now, it's a waiting game.
Rusty.
