Table - best surf conditions forecast for Scratby over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the cards for our local stretch.
Right now, things are flat and messy. We've got a dry spell of surf ahead, with no decent waves on offer for over a week. The first real chance of a surfable wave comes on the morning of Thursday the 16th. Even then, it's small, only about 4ft from the ENE, with a short 6-second period. The wind is light and cross-offshore, so the water will be clean, but the energy is weak (82). It's a limp start, but it's something.
The week that follows is a bit of a mixed bag, with clean conditions at times but the swell just doesn't have much grunt. Friday the 17th is clean in the morning but the swell drops to 2ft. By Saturday the 18th, the morning has a clean 4ft swell from the north, with clean conditions as the wind goes cross-off, but the energy is only moderate (106).
Now, standouts come in the second week. The best of the whole 16-day run is shaping up for Thursday the 23rd. The morning session at Scratby under a light rain sky is looking promising. We've got a clean 5ft north swell with moderate offshore wind from the WSW, a decent 8-second period, and the combined energy is solidly strong at 407. That's the pick of the bunch – a proper window for some fun, clean waves.
After that, it fades quickly. Friday the 24th drops to tiny 2ft, and the weekend of the 25th and 26th is back to near-flat nothing. So, a long wait, a couple of clean windows mid-period, and one clear standout on Thursday the 23rd.
Stay patient,
Rusty.
