Table - best surf conditions forecast for Barra do Ceara over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what we’ve got coming down the pipe for this stretch.
First up, the water temp's sitting around 82°, which is about normal for this time of year, so nothing freaky there. The issue is we're looking at a pretty grim run of small, weak, short-period easterly windswell. The swell period is stuck at 6 to 7 seconds, which is just junk – no power, no push. It’s mostly cross or cross-offshore winds, which isn't a total disaster, but the wave quality is being called "poor" for the majority of the window.
The first real chance to get wet doesn't even look that tempting. Thursday the 9th and Friday the 10th are a write-off with scores of 0. You’d be wasting your time.
There’s a glimmer of something on the Saturday the 11th morning – Barra do Ceara will see a marginal 5ft of easterly swell (combined energy 208 - moderate). The winds are cross-offshore from the SE, keeping things clean, but the period is still a weak 6 seconds, so expect lumpy, gutless waves. It's a "marginal" call at best with questionable tides.
The pattern just repeats through the next week. Mornings offer the cleanest conditions with cross-offshore wind, but the swell is tiny and weak. Sunday the 12th morning bumps up slightly to 5ft (270 energy) but with a risk of thunderstorms, so factor that in. Monday the 13th morning is another 5ft (220 energy) and clean. These are your best bets, but to be honest, they’re all just "marginal." Not really something to get excited about.
After about July 14th, things drop off even more, with waves barely pushing 3-4ft and energy falling into the low 100s. There's a gap of a few days where it's truly flat and useless.
The one standout worth mentioning is the morning of Tuesday the 21st of July. The swell picks up to 6ft (combined energy 323 - moderate), still from the east with that 7-second windswell period, but the cross-offshore wind keeps it clean. It’s not a classic, but it’s the biggest and most energetic wave in the whole 16-day stretch. For a beginner-friendly spot like Barra do Ceara, 6ft is getting towards the top end of comfortable, but it should still be doable if you’re keen. The morning of Wednesday the 22nd is almost identical at 6ft (320 energy), but again, it's just marginal with tide issues.
Honestly, this is a flat, disappointing run. No big groundswells, no long-period energy, and nothing that really makes you want to rush out the door. It’s a waiting game. Keep your eye on those 21st and 22nd mornings for the cleanest, biggest slop on offer, but don't expect any magic. Forecasts can always change, but right now, it's a pretty bleak picture.
Rusty.
