Table - best surf conditions forecast for Woolacombe over the next 16 days.
Alright, mate, Rusty here. Let's talk about what's on offer for the next stretch. We're looking at a long, quiet period ahead. The only real chance for a wave is right at the tail end, so we've gotta be patient.
The first half of July is pretty much a flat spell. We're looking at days of tiny, weak waves. A few mornings here and there might look clean on the surface, but with swell height barely a ripple and the combined energy stuck in the double digits, there's just nothing to push you down the line. It's more of a paddle and a tan than a surf. That long dry stretch runs pretty much from now right through until the 22nd.
Now, if you're holding out, mark your calendar for Wednesday the 22nd of July. That's our one standout. Woolacombe is the spot. We get a bit of life back. It'll be a gentle offshore breeze early, keeping the surface clean, and the swell bumps up to a fun 5ft. That's a moderate wave energy reading (230), and it's rolling in from the west. The water is running warmer than normal for the time of year too, just to sweeten the deal. It’s a beach and reef setup here, so that longer period swell will be better if you find a bank, but the early morning looks like the ticket – clean lines and a bit of push.
Later that day and into Thursday the 23rd, the swell backs off a bit. The wind stays workable, but the quality drops. After that, it's back into the small stuff. So, treat the 22nd as the main event. It’s not world-class, but after such a long flat run, it’ll feel like a blessing. If you’re a beginner, that 5ft is getting to the top end of comfortable, but a soft board will handle it. For the experts, there just isn't enough size or power to get you really excited.
Stay tuned, forecasts can change.
