Table - best surf conditions forecast for Lesconil over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming up for Lesconil.
Honestly, the next few days are pretty flat and wind-affected. We’re looking at a real dry spell until the 18th of July. From now until then, the swell is tiny and the wind is all over the place, so don’t bother paddling out. It’s a proper gap of about a week with nothing worth mentioning.
The first real glimmer of hope comes on Saturday the 18th of July. It’s not a classic, but it’s our best bet in the first half of the outlook. We’ve got a 5ft swell from the WNW, with a period of 8 seconds. The wind is offshore from the WNW, which is a big plus, keeping things clean. The combined energy is moderate at 349. This is a beach and reef setup, and with the offshore wind, it should be surfable. It’s a beginner-friendly spot, but the swell is just over 5ft, so it might be a little punchy for absolute beginners. The crowd situation here is described as 'often', so expect some company. For the time of year, the water temp is about average.
After that, things drop off again. The 19th and 20th of July have some swell, but the wind is a bit too strong, or the conditions are just ordinary. The 21st of July Tuesday morning is very interesting. It’s glassy, with a light wind from the WNW. The swell is only 3ft from the WNW with an 8-second period, but glassy conditions are a treat. The energy is weak at 147, so it’s a small, clean day for a longboard.
Looking further out, the real standout is Friday the 24th of July. This is the one to circle. Friday morning is glassy, with a 2ft swell from the W, but the period is a very long 13 seconds. That’s groundswell energy, and it’s packing 236 in combined energy. For a point break or reef, that long period is a dream, but at a beach break it can be a bit straight. Still, glassy conditions and a long-period groundswell are hard to beat. The afternoon looks good too, with a 3ft WNW swell at 12 seconds and clean cross-offshore wind. This is our proper standout for the whole forecast window.
So, to sum it up: the first week is a write-off. The 18th of July is your first chance. The 21st of July morning is a glassy little gem. And the 24th of July is the one to get excited about, though it’s a long way off so keep an eye on it.
Rusty.
