Table - best surf conditions forecast for Lesconil over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again.
I'll level with you. The next 16 days at Lesconil are looking like a total flat spell. You're gonna be staring at a lot of millpond conditions. The whole forecast is filled with "poor surf conditions" and zero scores, so there's nothing to get your hopes up for.
Starting Saturday, July 11th, it's a write-off. The water is sitting at about 66°, which is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year, but that's the only interesting thing.
From July 11th all the way through to July 25th, it's a long, dry stretch. The swell is barely a ripple, mostly under 2ft, coming from the west or northwest. The wave energy is almost non-existent, with values like 20 to 40 (weak wave energy). The period is all over the place, but when it's short, around 6 seconds, it's just wind slop. Even when we get a longer period of 12 seconds on July 20th, the height is only 1ft. That's a long wait for a whole lot of nothing.
We see a bit of a bump around July 21st and 22nd, with the swell nudging up to about 3ft from the WNW and the energy climbing into the triple digits, like 148 (moderate wave energy). The wind is mostly cross-off or offshore, so it's clean. But even then, the surf is still rated as poor. It's just not enough size to make it any good. The best of the best? There isn't any. The conditions are clean, but the waves are basically non-existent. For a beginner, 1ft to 2ft is fine, but it's still not surfable in a meaningful way.
With the wind blowing strong from the W and NW on those bigger days, and the break being a beach and reef setup, this whole forecast looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer. The energy is just too weak for a proper ride.
Honestly, this is one of those blank runs. It's a bummer, but it does happen around here. The forecasts can change, but for now, save your wax.
Rusty.
