Table - best surf conditions forecast for Lesconil over the next 16 days.
Alright, mates, Rusty here. I’ve pored over the numbers for our local stretch, and the truth is, we’re in for a pretty quiet run. There’s not a lot to get excited about, but there are a couple of moments when the stars might align for a surf.
Starting us off on Tuesday the 7th of July, Lesconil has a tiny 2ft swell from the W, with a short 8-second period. Combined energy is weak (46) and the cross-offshore breeze keeps it clean. It’s a paddle, not a surf.
Your best early chance comes on Wednesday the 8th of July. The swell builds a bit to 2ft from the WNW, with a 10-second period. Afternoon sees a moderate offshore breeze from the NW, and while the combined energy is still low (97), the offshore wind will make the surface glassy. It’s surfable waves but very ordinary conditions—still, it’s the pick of the early week.
Thursday the 9th of July pushes the swell to 3ft from the WNW, but the wind is a problem. Cross-shore in the morning, cross-off in the afternoon. The combined energy is moderate (132 and 126), but the quality is poor. It’s a miss.
Friday the 10th of July offers 3ft from the WNW, but the wind turns onshore and cross-shore, bringing rain and chop. The energy hits 141 in the afternoon, but it’s messy.
Then we hit a proper lull. From Saturday the 11th of July through to Wednesday the 15th of July, it’s mostly small and blown. The one exception is Saturday afternoon, the 11th of July, when the wind goes glassy and we have 2ft of WNW swell at 10 seconds. The combined energy is 100 (moderate) and the surface will be like a mirror. It’s surfable but very ordinary, but it’s the cleanest wave in the whole run.
After that, the bottom falls out. From Wednesday the 15th of July afternoon, where we get 3ft and a fresh offshore wind (112 energy), the surf barely climbs above 2ft for the rest of the outlook. The period stays short, the wind stays mostly offshore or cross-off, and the combined energy drops to weak. It’s clean, but it’s flat.
The standout is Wednesday the 8th of July afternoon with that small, offshore wave, or the glassy Saturday the 11th of July afternoon. Those are your windows. Everything else is a waiting game for beginners or a pass for anyone looking for a proper wave. This is a long, quiet stretch.
Rusty.
