Table - best surf conditions forecast for Wembury over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – this next couple of weeks at Wembury is a tough watch. The forecast is showing a whole lot of flatness and not much to get excited about. The combined swell energy barely gets into double digits most days, often sitting in the teens or even single digits, which is basically nothing. We’re looking at a long stretch of poor surf conditions with no real recommendations to speak of.
We start off Saturday the 11th of July with a tiny 0.7ft swell from the West, but with a fresh 19 mph cross-offshore wind it’s clean, just absolutely tiny. The afternoon sees a bump to 2ft, but the period drops to a pathetic 3 seconds and the wind goes cross-shore, making it a lumpy mess. Sunday the 12th is worse – a 0.3ft morning swell followed by a 3ft afternoon, but that comes with a 4-second period and a strong breeze making it messy. Monday the 13th through to the end of the forecast is more of the same: tiny swells, often under 2ft, with strong onshore or cross-shore winds. The effective energy is so weak, with values like 16, 21, 6, and 48 (the highest being 60 on the 13th), it’s just not worth paddling out for a proper surf.
Honestly, there’s no standout session here. The only silver lining is that the water temperature is about average for the time of year, so you won’t freeze if you’re just floating around. But for surfing? You’re better off waiting for the next system. This looks like a blank run for the area, and forecasts can change, but for now, don’t hold your breath.
Rusty.
