Alright, crew, let's have a look at what's cookin' for Secret Harbour over the next couple of weeks. Rusty here, with the local skinny.

First up, the water temp is sitting at 66°, which is about 1° cooler than normal for this time of year—nothing wild, just a touch nippy, so you might want that spring suit for the early sessions.

The outlook starts with a bit of a slow burner. Thursday morning the 9th is the first real chance to get wet, but it's a bit average. We've got a 7ft W swell pushing in, but the 15 km/h north wind is making things a bit wonky. The energy is pumping hard at 1881, but the quality is just not there. It might be worth a look if you're desperate, but don't expect much.

Friday the 10th is a write-off. The swell drops a touch, but the wind is all over the shop, making a mess of things. Saturday the 11th isn't much better—small and cross-shore. You'd be better off doing something else.

Now, here's where it gets interesting. Sunday morning the 12th is a proper standout. The swell holds at 6ft from the WSW, but the magic is that light 10 km/h SE breeze, which is cross-off, leaving the waves clean. The energy is a solid 1901, and the period is a lovely 16 seconds—that's proper groundswell. This is an exposed sandbar, so that long period will set up nicely, but it will be a bit more challenging at the take-off. For the experienced crew, this is your window.

Sunday morning the 12th is the pick of the first week. Clean, solid, and with some grunt.

Monday morning the 13th is a carbon copy, but with even more size—7ft and a 17-second period, with the same clean offshore-ish wind. The energy is huge at 2581. This is for the advanced crew only; it's going to be a freight train. Tuesday the 14th is another gem, with a proper offshore ENE wind at 15 km/h keeping the 7ft swell glassy all morning. It's a rare run of clean mornings.

The middle of the week sees the wind pick up again, but Wednesday afternoon the 15th and Thursday morning the 16th still offer a clean 6ft to 6ft if you can handle the onshore breeze that messes up the afternoon. It's not the best, but it's surfable.

The second week gets a bit chaotic. A big storm swell is forecast for Thursday the 23rd, with a massive 15ft to 16ft W swell. That's way too big for this spot and the wind is onshore anyway. Don't even think about it.

However, the real standout of the whole 16-day window is Friday the 24th. The morning is looking exceptional. The swell is a solid 12ft from the WSW, with a 17-second period—that's a massive, long-period groundswell. The energy reading is a staggering 13760. The wind is light, 10 km/h from the ESE, and it's cross-off, which means clean, lined-up waves. This is for experts only—it's big, powerful, and not for the faint-hearted. The afternoon is also big but the wind swings onshore, making it a bit messy. If you're an experienced surfer, circle the 24th on the calendar. It's a ways out, so keep an eye on the charts, but the potential is huge.

So, to sum it up: the first week has a few good clean mornings, with Sunday the 12th and Monday the 13th being the best. The second week is a write-off until the 24th, which is the big, expert-only pay-off. For the rest of the time, it's a mix of choppy, onshore, and small stuff. The consistent crew will get a few waves, but you have to pick your moments.

Rusty.
