Alright, grab your board and let’s take a look at what's on the table here.
Honestly, for the next couple of weeks, it’s a pretty flat and lifeless stretch. We’ve got a long run of tiny surf, and not much to get excited about. The first few days of this outlook, starting Tuesday, July 7th, are just small, weak, and messy. The swell is barely ticking over, with heights sitting at just 1 ft from the ESE, and winds are mostly cross-onshore or choppy. It’s a bit of a snooze-fest. The combined wave energy is weak, hovering in the 20s and 30s.
The water temp at Satellite Beach/RCs is running about 86°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. Not a game-changer, but it’s nice.
There’s no real standout in this whole run. The waves just don’t push above 2 ft, and the energy stays weak, with the combined energy peaking at just 81 on Wednesday afternoon, July 8th, but that comes with a risk of thunderstorms and onshore chop. Not worth paddling out for.
We do get a few fleeting windows of clean conditions. Saturday morning, July 11th, looks glassy with zero wind, but the swell is still only 1 ft with a short 8-second period. It’s clean, but there’s just nothing to ride. The same goes for Wednesday morning, July 15th, and Thursday morning, July 16th – both glassy, but the swell is tiny.
The long-range offers no hope either. Into the second week, from July 17th onwards, it’s the same story: small, weak, and mostly onshore. The best you can hope for is a cleanish morning with offshore or glassy conditions, but even then, the waves are barely ankle-high. The crowd potential is “sometimes” here, but with this lack of surf, you won’t have to worry about it.
Given the persistent tiny swell and strong onshore winds on many afternoons, this setup honestly looks more interesting for a kite surfer than someone looking to paddle into a proper wave. It’s a long, flat stretch, and if you’re hanging for a wave, you might have to wait for a change in the weather pattern.
