The Lowdown
Alright, let's talk it out in feet and knots. It's gonna be a slow grind out there at Satellite Beach/RCs. The rest of August is basically a write-off. We're looking at a solid stretch of tiny, weak surf. You'll see some clean mornings with the wind going light offshore, but the swell is a pathetic 1 foot or less from the east. It's going to be a lot of sitting and staring at nothing.
The light finally starts to show up around the end of the first week of September. The real standout is shaping up for Friday, September 4th, and Saturday, September 5th. The swell will finally push up to about 4 feet from the east-northeast. The energy is building into the moderate range, and the morning winds are light and cross-offshore from the southwest, which is going to give you some clean, lined-up waves. The period is a little short, so don't expect a long, drawn-out groundswell, but it'll be fun. Saturday morning (September 5th) looks like the best bet, with the same clean conditions and a solid 4 feet of ENE swell.
It's a beach and reef setup, so it's wide open to the east. The water is a touch warmer than normal, sitting at about 87°F. Don't bother before that first week of September, but when that swell hits, it'll be worth a paddle out.
Short Range ForecastLight rain (total 2mm), mostly falling on Sat night. Warm (max 31°C on Sat afternoon, min 26°C on Sun night).
