The Lowdown
Alright, let me take a look at what we’ve got for this stretch. Gotta be honest with you – it’s a quiet one. For the whole 16-day window starting now, there’s just not much to get excited about. The first few days are flat and weak, and that theme holds through the whole run. There’s a bit of a gap of zero recommendations, so don’t go rushing down expecting waves.
The only spot on the cards is Satellite Beach/RCs. It’s an advanced beach and reef setup, exposed to the swell, but man, the numbers just aren’t there. The combined swell energy is tiny, barely cracking 17 (weak energy) on Sunday the 19th, and it never really gets going. The biggest combined energy I see is 79 (still weak) on Saturday the 25th afternoon. Swell heights hover around 1.0ft to 3ft, mostly from the ESE or E, with periods of 4 to 9 seconds. That’s short-period, local wind swell at best – no real power or shape.
The wind is a mixed bag. A few mornings show clean conditions – like Wednesday the 22nd morning with light cross-offshore winds and clean surf, and again on Friday the 24th morning. But the swell is still tiny. Most afternoons get choppy with cross-onshore breezes. On the 29th and 30th, we get moderate to fresh offshore winds (W and WSW), but again, the swell is only 1ft and 1.0ft. It’s clean, but there’s nothing to ride.
Water temperature is about average for the time of year, so no worries on that front.
Honestly, if you’re a kite surfer, the stronger afternoon winds and choppy conditions might be more interesting than anything for a paddle surfer. For the rest of us, it’s a long stretch of small, weak, and inconsistent surf. The waves just aren’t there. Stay patient, forecasts can change, but right now, it’s a flat spell.
