Table - best surf conditions forecast for Satellite Beach/RCs over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you about this stretch of coast. Looking at the whole 16-day window, I gotta say it’s a real flat spell. There’s barely a pulse of energy out there, and the conditions are mostly messy. The water is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, sitting at 86°, which feels nice for a swim, but not for surfing.
The first real chance to even bother getting wet is Wednesday morning, the 15th of July. The swell is tiny, only 2ft from the NE, and the period is a short 8 seconds. Combined energy is weak at 67. But here’s the thing – the wind is glassy, absolutely dead calm. So for a wave count and some fun on a longboard, Satellite Beach/RCs might be your best bet. It’s an advanced break, very consistent, but at this size, it’s a mellow affair. Crowds are possible.
Thursday morning the 16th also has some glassy conditions, but the swell drops to 1ft. It’s just too small to get excited about. There are a few more mornings with glassy or light winds, like the 17th and 18th, but the wave heights are stuck around 1.0ft with only 1.0ft of height. The energy is practically nothing – in the teens. It’s not surfable.
The afternoon sessions are a write-off. The wind swings onshore from the SE, making everything choppy and lumpy. From the 11th of July all the way through to the 24th, there’s no single standout session. The swell direction tries to shift from the NE back to the ESE, but the size never gets over 2ft. The best morning of the second week is the 22nd of July, with a 2ft SE swell and a clean cross-offshore wind, but the period is a miserable 5 seconds, so it’s all windswell and no push.
Honestly, don’t hold your breath. The first week offers a couple of glassy windows for a micro-session, but the second week is even more barren. This is a tough stretch.
Rusty.
