Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let’s keep it real. Satellite Beach is in a proper lull for the next couple of weeks. The wave energy is weak across the board, sitting well under 100, so there’s no juice in the water. The swell is tiny— between 1 and 2 feet—and mostly out of the east-southeast with short, weak periods around 8 to 9 seconds. That’s not gonna build any kind of wave. Water temp is sitting at a warm 85°, which is pretty normal for this time of year, so at least the water’s nice.
The good news is there are a fair few mornings with light offshore or glassy conditions, especially from July 5th onward when the wind swings west-southwest or southwest. Those windows will look clean, but the ocean will be flat and gutless. Crowds at Satellite Beach/RCs are “sometimes” busy, so even when it’s small, you might have company. But honestly, with waves this small and weak, it’s a tough paddle for very little reward.
No standout days here, folks. The best of a bad bunch is probably the morning of July 10th – Friday the 10th of July. It’s glassy, with a light 2ft swell from the east-southeast, but it’s still only 8 seconds of period and the combined energy is just 47. It’s not gonna give you a proper ride, just a bit of a bump. Not worth getting excited about.
There’s a gap of flatness with no recommendations until the very end. Around July 18th and 19th, the swell bumps up to around 2ft-2ft but the period drops even shorter to 5 or 6 seconds, and the wind turns onshore or cross-on. That’s more of a mess than a wave. In fact, with the wind and weak windswell, it looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing during that final weekend.
Just a flat run. Forecasts can change, but right now, leave the board at home.
