Table - best surf conditions forecast for Las Redes over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the table for this stretch. Straight up: it’s a lean run. The whole 16-day window from July 13th right through to the 28th is basically one long flat spell. There’s nothing that qualifies as a proper surfable wave in the mix. The swell energy is tiny – we’re talking combined energy values in the single digits and teens (3 to 47). That’s weak, barely registering. So for the entire period, there are no real recommendations. You’re looking at a gap that runs the full two weeks plus. That’s just how it goes here sometimes – the area goes quiet.
The only break on the radar is Las Redes, a sandbar setup best with a WSW swell, and it’s fairly consistent, but that doesn't help when there’s no swell to speak of. The best the forecast offers is a few mornings with clean conditions and light offshore or glassy winds – like Wednesday morning July 15th (NNW 6 mph, cross-offshore) or Thursday morning July 23rd (ENE 3 mph, glassy). But even then, the swell is nothing – 2 ft at best on the 15th, with a short period around 5-6 seconds, and combined energy still only 26. That’s not enough to stand up. On the 23rd it’s glassy but the swell is 1 ft with a period of 3 seconds and energy of just 3. Paddling out would be pointless.
Water temps are about average for the time of year – nothing weird going on there. So this is a classic case of a region going through a dry spell. Forecasts can always change, but right now, there’s nothing to get excited about. Keep an eye on it, but don’t hold your breath.
