Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what we've got.
First up, no beating around the bush: the next two weeks are a real struggle. We've got a little swell trickling in, but the quality just isn't there for a proper surf. The first few days are poor. From Monday, July 6th through to the weekend of July 13th, the waves are small and weak. The combined swell energy is mostly below 100 (28 to 51), so it's barely a ripple. We're talking 0.7 ft to maybe 2 ft on the better days. Even though the wind is often offshore or cross-off, it's just not enough push to make anything worthwhile. For a spot that's "very sheltered" and inconsistent, this is a tough run.
The only real flicker of hope comes late in the second week. Starting Sunday, July 19th, the swell finally starts to show some muscle, pushing up to 5 ft to 6 ft from the NNW, with combined energy climbing into the 300-400 range. The issue? That's right when the wind really cranks up—strong breezes and near gale-force. On the 19th afternoon we get a strong offshore at 28 mph, but that's a case of "looks great in the car park, terrifying in the water." The wave comment says it straight: "strong offshore and clean but hard to paddle into." This is more for the kite crew than a longboard session.
By Tuesday, July 21st, the swell is up to 7 ft from the NNW with energy hitting 545—that's a solid wall of water. But with a short period of just 8 seconds and that wind screaming offshore, it's messy, powerful, and only for the experts. Even then, it's going to be a battle to get out back.
So the honest truth? There is no standout day for a relaxed, fun surf in this entire forecast period. Mareta is an inconsistent, sheltered break, and when the swell finally arrives, the conditions are too extreme.
Rusty.
