Table - best surf conditions forecast for Playa de San Lorenzo over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what’s on offer. Gotta be straight with you – this is a tough stretch. The next couple weeks are looking pretty flat and uninspiring for Playa de San Lorenzo. We've got a long, lean run ahead.
The water is sitting at 68°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s about the only thing that’s slightly out of the ordinary. The surf just isn’t there.
We kick off on Tuesday, July 7th, with tiny 2ft swell from the WNW, period a short 5 seconds, and a cross-on wind. That’s a no-go. Wednesday is even smaller. Thursday morning, July 9th, things look a little better with the wind going glassy, but the swell is still only 2ft, and the period is 9 seconds. The energy is weak (81). You might find a small, clean wave if you’re desperate.
Saturday morning, July 11th, sees a tiny uptick in energy (140) with a 2ft NW swell and a 11-second period – that’s a longer period, but it’s still small and the wind is cross-on. Not worth getting excited about.
Sunday morning, July 12th, is another glassy morning with 2ft swell, but again, the energy is moderate (100) and the conditions are still just ordinary.
Honestly, the best window in the whole 16-day outlook is Thursday morning, July 16th. The swell jumps to 3ft from the WNW, with glassy conditions. The period is short at 7 seconds, energy is only 69, so it’s still not great. Then Friday morning, July 17th, gives us 3ft from the WNW with glassy wind and a 6-second period, energy at 69 as well. It’s the biggest and cleanest we’ll see, but it’s still just "surfable but very ordinary."
That’s as good as it gets. After that, we drop back into tiny, weak surf for the rest of the run.
So, the standout? If you have to paddle out, make it the morning of Friday, July 17th. That 3ft WNW swell with glassy conditions is the cleanest and biggest we’ll see. It’s not pumping, but it’s the pick of a very poor bunch.
The other option is Thursday morning, July 16th, for that 3ft glassy session. Either way, don’t expect much. This is a long, quiet stretch. It won’t stay this way forever, but for now, the lineup’s gonna be a lonely place.
Rusty.
