Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what we've got on the table for this stretch.
First things first, the outlook for Valdovino is a tough one. We're looking at a long, dry spell of poor conditions right through until Thursday morning, July 9th. That's a solid gap with nothing worthwhile.
The first real glimmer comes on Thursday, July 9th. The swell ticks up to about 3ft from the WNW, with a period of 9 seconds. It’s weak, with a combined swell energy of just 106 – barely a pulse. The real standout here is the wind early: glass. Dead calm. That’s a massive positive, making for clean, smooth conditions. It’ll be surfable, but don't expect much power.
The water temp anomaly is about average for this time of year, so nothing wild to report.
Things get a bit more interesting towards Saturday, July 11th. We see a jump in swell height to 5-7ft, coming from the NNE. The period is short though, only 6 seconds, and the combined swell energy climbs to 471 for Saturday afternoon. That’s moderate energy, but the short period means it’ll be a bit crumbly and bumpy. The wind is a cross-shore, which isn't ideal. This is really only for experienced surfers at that size, and given the short period, it won't be the cleanest.
The best bet on the board, the one to circle on your calendar, is Saturday, July 18th, morning. We get another glassy morning, with the same 3ft swell from the NNW. It’s still a weak energy at 119, but clean as a whistle with the glassy wind. For a summer morning session, you could do a lot worse. After that, the wind swings, and the conditions go sour again.
Honestly, the setup through the second week looks more interesting for a kite session than a paddle session, especially with the stronger winds and bigger, choppier swells. Keep an eye on those glassy windows – they're brief but sweet.
Rusty.
