Table - best surf conditions forecast for Aiguaoliva over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's get straight into it. We're looking at a 16-day window for Aiguaoliva, and I gotta be honest with you, it's a tough one.
The overall pattern is flat and poor. There's a real lack of any decent swell, and the wind just won't cooperate for most of the period. We're looking at a long stretch with no real hope. The first solid day of the week is Thursday, July 9th, and it's a dud. The swell is a tiny 0.3 ft from the SE with a period of just 4 seconds, and the combined energy is a measly 1 – that's barely a ripple. The water is a warm 80°, which is a massive 5° warmer than normal, making it very unusual for this time of year. But that doesn't help the surf.
The first few days are a write-off. The swell is either non-existent or tiny, and the wind is mostly cross or onshore. The energy readings are all in the single digits, meaning there's just nothing to work with. We're looking at a gap of several days with no real surf on offer. The consistency is a major issue; Aiguaoliva itself rarely breaks, and this forecast confirms it.
The best chance you'll see all period is a couple of small windows. Check out Saturday, July 11th. The swell picks up to 1 ft from the ENE in the morning, with energy hitting 5, and the wind is a light cross-shore from the NNE. It's not great, but it's something. The afternoon sees a slightly bigger 2 ft from the E, but the wind swings more onshore, making it choppy. Saturday, July 18th, has a tiny 0.7 ft swell from the ESE, but the morning is glassy calm. That's the cleanest you'll see it, but there's no power. Then Sunday, July 19th morning is also glassy, with a 1 ft swell from the SSE and energy of 6. Still tiny, but at least it's clean.
For a true standout? There really isn't one. The best of a bad bunch is the morning of Sunday, July 19th. It's glassy, and the swell is small but clean. The wind is offshore from the WNW on the morning of July 17th, with a 1 ft swell from the east, but it's followed by a stormy afternoon. Don't get your hopes up. This break is a reef, and it's for beginners, but with the swell this small and inconsistent, it's a waiting game. The combined swell energy is weak, barely reaching double digits on the best days. There's a real chance this setup looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer given the wind and small, poor quality surf.
Keep your eyes on the forecasts, but for now, it's a flat spell.
Rusty.
