G'day, I'm Rusty. Let's have a look at what's on offer for Aiguaoliva over the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you—things are looking pretty bleak. The swell just isn't showing up, and it's gonna be a long, frustrating wait. This break rarely breaks as it is, and for the entire 16-day run, there's not a single session that I'd paddle out for. We're looking at a solid stretch of no real surf to mention. The water's sitting at 80°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least you won't be cold while you're staring at a flat ocean.
The first real hope, if you can call it that, comes around midday on Saturday the 13th of July. There's a whisper of a 0.7ft swell from the east with a period of 5 seconds, and the wind goes glassy. It's basically nothing, but it'll be flat and clean. The combined energy is a paltry 4 (weak energy). Not worth a board.
We get a tiny pulse mid-week, on Tuesday the 15th of July in the morning. A 2ft swell from the southeast with a 6-second period, combined energy of 38 (still weak). Wind is light cross-shore. It's tiny, short-period, and inconsistent. Aiguaoliva is a reef break that rarely breaks, so this is barely a ripple.
The rest of the run into the third week of July stays the same story—tiny swells between 0.7ft and 1ft, mostly from the east or southeast, with short periods. The wind does offer a few glassy windows, like on the morning of Saturday the 19th of July (0.7ft from the SSE with a 4-second period) and again on the morning of Wednesday the 22nd of July (1ft from the ENE with a 6-second period). But a 1ft wave with hardly any energy (6 to 10) on a rarely-breaking reef is not surf. It's a ripple.
Honestly, there's no standout here. Not one session to point to. This is a blank run, and for a spot that's already inconsistent, it's not unusual to see a long flat spell like this. The forecasts can always change, but for now, leave the board in the car and maybe go for a swim.
Rusty.
