Table - best surf conditions forecast for Xivares over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the table for the next couple of weeks.
Well, I gotta be straight with you – it’s a pretty bleak start. The first week and a bit is mostly a write-off for any decent waves. We’re looking at a long gap of flatness and poor conditions right from Saturday the 11th through to, well, most of the following week. A few fleeting moments of glassy conditions pop up, like on Monday the 13th morning and Tuesday the 14th morning, but the swell is tiny and weak (combined energy around 83 and 43). It’s barely enough to get a wet suit wet. There’s a bit of a lift from the 20th onwards, with some moderate energy in the water (122 to 202), but the wind is messing it up, keeping it poor.
But hold onto your leash, because the real story is the very end of the run. The standout here is the morning of Sunday the 26th of July at Xivares. It’s the one session that gets a proper thumbs up. The swell is pushing in at 6 ft from the NW, with a period around 10 seconds, giving it some real push (combined energy of 638). The wind is absolute perfection – glassy, maybe a 3 mph Westerly. That’s the kind of morning you set the alarm for. The water is sitting at about 68°, which is a touch warmer than you'd normally expect for this time. This break is a fairly consistent exposed spot, and with that size, it's solid for intermediates and will have some good, clean lines. Just be aware, it can get crowded, so get in early. The Saturday afternoon before is also holding some good size (5 ft) but the wind is variable and onshore, so it won't be as clean. The earlier part of that week, the mornings of the 23rd (4 ft) and 24th (5 ft) are okay if you're desperate, but the wind is not cooperating, making for choppy, onshore conditions. The 25th is messy too.
So, there you go. Two weeks of waiting, but that final Sunday morning looks like it could be a beauty. The long-range call is promising, but let's see how it holds.
