The Lowdown

Alright, Rusty here again, but for the imperial crew.

So, for Briech, we're looking at a pretty drawn-out, quiet period. There's a big stretch of nothing at the start, so don't rush to wax up. The first time you could even think about a wave is the morning of September 18th, and it's still a small affair.

The first few days are just tiny, knee-high slop and strong wind. The combined wave energy is barely there, staying under 45. Water temp is about 70°, running a touch cold for the season.

The one real standout, and I mean the *only* one, is the morning of September 18th. We get a clean 0.7m (2ft) swell from the WNW with a 10-second period. But the magic is the wind: dead calm, absolutely glassy. It'll be as clean as a mirror. The energy is still low, but for a tiny wave, you won't find better conditions in this whole two-week window.

Honestly, that's your one shot. The rest of the run is either choppy, blown out, or just plain flat. A couple of other mornings like the 19th and 22nd have "surfable" waves, but they're tiny and the wind is on it. Later on, around the 26th of September, we see a few more glassy mornings with some ankle to knee-high swell, but nothing that'll get your heart racing.

Bottom line: The wait is long, and the reward is small. If you're desperate for a soul session, set your alarm for the morning of the 18th of September for the cleanest, most peaceful little waves on offer. Otherwise, maybe save the energy for a different week.

Rusty.
