Table - best surf conditions forecast for Geriba over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s break it down.
The first few days are a bit flat and messy, but there’s a couple of clean windows later that are worth pointing out. Geriba is the only break in the mix, so that’s where we’re at.
The water temp is about normal for this time of year. Sunday the 12th is a no-go – tiny, onshore, and just ugly. Monday the 13th sees a pulse of energy, with a combined swell energy of 1039 (moderate) and waves around 8ft, but a fresh cross-onshore wind makes it lumpy and poor.
Tuesday the 14th stays messy – 7ft to 8ft of S to SSE swell, but with strong onshore winds giving us choppy, marginal conditions. The energy gets up to 2182 (strong) on Tuesday afternoon, but the quality is poor.
Now, Wednesday morning the 15th is the first real window. You’ve got a clean 7ft SSE swell with an 11-second period and a light offshore wind from the NNE. That’s glassy, clean surf, and the combined energy is 982 (moderate). This is your standout for the first week – light wind, clean lines, and a decent size. Get out there if you can.
Thursday the 16th holds similar size (7ft SE) with a fresh offshore wind, but it’s stronger, making the paddle a bit tougher. Still clean. Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th see the swell drop fast, with strong wind, so not worth the effort.
Then we hit a quiet stretch. From Sunday the 19th through Friday the 24th, the swell goes tiny – 0.7ft to 2ft. Combined energy drops under 200 (weak). There’s a long-period S groundswell on the 20th and 21st (periods up to 18 seconds), but at only 0.7ft to 1ft, it’s a flat spell. That’s about a week of nothing much.
But then, Saturday the 26th is a real standout. Clean 5ft S swell with a 13-second period and a moderate offshore wind from the NE. The combined energy jumps to 1130 (strong). This is marked as excellent for experienced surfers – powerful, clean, and the offshore breeze will have the waves lined up. That’s your big one for the second week.
Monday the 27th keeps it going: 5ft S swell at 14 seconds, with a light offshore wind. Clean, glassy, combined energy of 721 (moderate). Another very good session.
So, bottom line: Wednesday morning the 15th is your first solid chance. After a flat week, Saturday the 26th and Monday the 27th look like the best of the whole run – strong groundswell, offshore winds, and clean waves. Long-range is promising but not locked in yet.
Stay stoked.
Rusty.
