Alright, let’s take a look at the next couple of weeks. It’s gonna be a bit of a mixed bag, but there are a couple of windows we can get stoked on.
First up, for the next few days, we’re in a bit of a flat spell. Thursday the 2nd of July has a tiny 1-foot SSW swell at Geriba, with a light offshore breeze making it clean, but the energy is really weak (53). It’s surfable for a learner, but not much else. Friday morning holds a little more size, still small, but the wind swings onshore in the afternoon, ruining it. Saturday and Sunday get a bit of a boost in size, with swell hitting 4 feet and then up to 7 feet on Sunday, but the wind is howling onshore from the southwest, so it’s going to be a messy, choppy mess. Not worth paddling out for. It looks more like a day for the kite crew than a paddle surfer.
There’s a bit of a lull in quality until we get to Monday the 6th of July. The morning is still a bit lumpy with that onshore wind, but the afternoon turns it on. That’s when we get a clean 3-foot swell from the south with a very long 20-second period and a light cross-offshore breeze. The water temp is a pleasant 74°, about average for this time of year. The energy is strong (1038), and it’s lining up nicely for the experienced crew. This is the first real standout.
Roll into Tuesday the 7th. The morning has a solid 3-foot south swell with a fresh 19 mph offshore (NNE) wind. It’ll be clean and punchy, but the wind is strong, so you’ll want to be on your game. The energy is still good (802). The afternoon drops off a bit in size but stays clean.
Now, for the real highlight – the second week. We’ve got a bit of a wait for it, but look at Wednesday the 15th of July. The morning brings a chunky 8-foot SSE groundswell with a 13-second period and a moderate offshore breeze. This is big, powerful stuff – strictly for experts. The energy is enormous (2165). It’s going to be a serious, solid session. Then Thursday the 16th of July follows that up with a 7-foot SSE swell, lighter offshore wind, and incredible conditions. That morning session is going to be pure gold. The energy is still very high (1209).
Prior to that, Friday the 10th of July offers a brief glimmer. It’s a clean, glassy morning with a 4-foot SSW swell. Worth a look for a quick fix.
So, in summary: the start is flat and blown out. The Monday afternoon (6th) is your first proper clean window, but the real standout is definitely Wednesday and Thursday (15th and 16th) of July for the bigger, more powerful swell. Get ready for that.
